team after jlt 1, only a few trades over the weekend, rookies were traded, beams - dusty, lmac - lloyd, jom - dow
thoughts? a few things could change, llycett, sicily, lloyd, christensen all could changeView attachment 463696
I like it but obviously your forwardline is pretty weak. I'm not really sure how you can fix it with 144k leftover though. Your midfield is amazing! I cant really fault any individual pick either to be honest.

Def= I like Yeo but not at 560k, feel like extra time in midfield will hinder him a bit. Potential upgrade later on. Hibberd and Laird should be top 6 defenders come end of year. McGovern only 3% ownership nice POD imo. Unsure about Sicily, especially now seeing the entire supercoach is on him, although the DEF/FWD eligibility is nice

Mid= Danger is a lock, Titch gets the nod over Dusty for consistency. Clayton Oliver low ownership, durable, and can only get better. Lachie Neale was in 0.6% of teams until the HS did an article on him, will always go under the radar but churns it out every week. Not worried about Fyfe's impact either. M6 will be one of the high priced rookie mids, havent decided who yet.

Ruck= Have flirted with Sauce, Lycett, now with Stef Martin. Gawn lock.

For=Area that ive changed the most and still not happy with. This is the area that id like the most feedback in

Much appreciated lads.

Nice team. Gray likely to get suspended.

Thoughts on Burton/Sicily average this year?

Hard to split them TBH. I had both in, but then moved Burton out for Shaw as I thought bye-week was going to kill me.

I don't think you can lose with either pic, as I expect a lot of the ball to go through them when we rebound as they are both great by foot. Sicily however is an elite intercept mark and I think he can continue to score 90+ like he was for the latter half of last season.

(FWIW I have since taken Shaw out and put Burton in again)

Hopefully ed curnow brings his super glue gloves and keeps dusty quiet and Charlie steams out of the fwd 50 and cleans up dusty

reason my fwd is so weak is due to not trusting any other fwds, if anything i may trade sicily or lloyd for a rookie or cheap under 300k player then trade Christensen for heeney but not sure about heeney or any other players over 500k up fwd.
mids are basically set, only player not sure of is dusty but he gives me a 2nd captain option after danger every week.

I have 165.3k spare

Only changes from weekend were C.Curnow > D.Smith, Setterfield > Barry, Sloane > Zorko.

I'm holding NicNat as long as I can.

I'm tempted to go Zorko to Dusty, but I would ideally like a decent D4 given the lack of DEF rookies.

I've got 3 x 165k+ rookies as placeholders, I will most likely cull one of LDU or Rainier Wolfcastle for a last cash grab

24 days to go, it's that sphincter tightening time of year!

Just indicating you have a few. Hard day at the office champ?

Well its easy to point the finger and hang shit, maybe some advice opinions etc wouldn't go a stray.

Chill mate.

Simpson in the ruck is risky hes never played out a full season.
Degoey doesn't he have ban from drink driving.
I would add a better ruck and a more permo scorer in the forwards.

I like this team, personally I'm not sold on McDonald but I am considering C.Curnow myself as I think he will breakout this year..
I like the Houli/Grundy picks, big risk (too ballsy for me) but the reward could be there.
Just a personal thing, but Beams and Fyfe is too risky given they have both had injury issues over the years - I would pick one of them and swap the other for a Cripps type.

Post JLT team (not that I watched any of it).
If Redden were to prove to be a viable option at M6, it sure makes the rest of your team look a lot better!

If you had $329,700 remaining, where would you spend it?
D4, F4 or upgrade a premo mid to Danger? Elsewhere?

I don't hate picking Redden. It's only one pre-season game but he's always had some talent. Might just be that it finally all comes together for him. I don't consider it a worse pick than JOM.

I'd turn Bont into Danger if that were me.

Either Bont to Danger (or Redden to Danger depending on his next few weeks) is what I am leaning towards as well.
Of course, depending on which and how many rookies make the cut for Rd 1, I have plenty of cash up my sleeve to add an extra premo or 2 to my forwards and defence.
All in all pretty happy with where I am at structure wise at least.

Love the Zorko selection. Criminally underrated/underselected every season.
Dahlhaus might also prove to be a sneaky POD after his relative struggles last season. Haven't seen him in too many sides amongst the serious folk around these parts
