I didn't have McGrath anywhere near it this time last year. Not until after Rd2 did i think he was going to have a good year in the AFL.

Dan Hannebery debuted in 2009 (played 7 games) and then won the rising star in 2010.

I hate to be that guy but there is a bit of smoke around Witherden not being keen on extending his initial contract. If thats the case I would suggest he is unlikely to habe a fantastic year as he struggles with the pressure coming from the club, the media, family and public. Seen it happen quite a bit up here.

Towards the end of last season, say roughly round 20 i rang up sportsbet as they didnt have a market for the 2018 rising star to see what odds id get on Witherden thinking i should get atleast 10-1 and they offered me 3-1 the cheeky pricks. Glad i didnt do that now, even 6-1 isnt enough for the to chuck my hard earned on it.

Im thinking LDU, Stephenson or Brayshaw out of this years draft class, Brodie and setterfied also represent good value for 2nd year players.

The most baffling odds is Sam Hayes who will surely be lucky to play more than 10 games paying less than all the above players apart from LDU.
