From what I saw LDU and Williams did some nice things, Nielson OK before going off. Where was Haydon?

Not a day for big men, and certainly not worth getting too worried about. It is blindingly obvious that our depth is poor, and our VFL team is not well balanced.

narrier was terrible today - worst player out there. i have my doubts on him. hates any body contact. almost looked scared to go near the ball. just saying

Doesn't appear to like contact and coasts about a hell of a lot.

He's at the top of my October list right now.

His intensity is always good, it's just that the game slowed down to his current pace today.

Agree.

LDU lacks intensity is the "in vogue" comment to make about him for posters who expect him to be racking up the numbers. Originally comes from draft watchers last year.

Just a bit of bias confirmation happening.

He looked good for decent portions of the game, just need to pump games and let his body develop a bit more. In two years time, a lot of those criticising will owe him an apology.

Spent a lot of the time sitting off packs.

Also had patches where he was in the thick of it.

He's patchy.

He is a first year player playing against some older decent footballers for the first time, it ain't the U/18s and it ain't easy!

The side basically had no chance of winning today's match because it didn't alter it's zoning structure to adapt to the conditions.

The conditions called for man on man football, Loader just stuck with the standard program.

We basically allowed Casey to accumulate all of those uncontested possessions.

I think you can make a current observation without owing an apology unless you are writing someone off. I am not overly concerned about his form over 2018 and 2019. If he is looking cactus in 2020-2021 then I will be worried.

That and ignored the number one rule of wet weather football. Play in front.

I meant the mb as well as drafts and trade board, a lot have already written him off.

Apparently took a knock in the first quarter, came back on though. Tackled hard all day, but had a couple of arms around him W he tried to get it out of the mid. Thought he was a HFF, they rotate him into the middle though. Bit disappointed in Narriers effort today, looked totally out of his depth. LDU had spurts of good, but could have been a bit tougher. Murphy had a good one in bloody sh... conditions, Pruessy kept trying. Williams put in a fair bit. Those conditions don't suit anyone though.

O, don’t get me wrong, it was a shitful display by most, up there with the Essendon and Richmond thrashings, it’s just there are positives to glem out of shameful displays, which is what you have to do at this level. We’ve relying on first and second year players to go against seasoned vfl and afl players. We don’t have the older depth as we cleaned it out and we lack midfield depth atm.

Our smaller blokes, well a lot of them all actually, got smashed out of contests repeatedly. And they looked significantly smaller and less physically developed than many of the Casey players.

But its not a good look having Wags dominate you in the last quarter.

I guess you most now be kicked out of the cool kid group.

Yeh I was thinking the same.

They had several AFL listed players in that side who had been floating in and out of a team sitting in the top 6 (4 for the most part) and the players not part of the usual are developed over a few seasons. We had a lot of less physically developed out there today. In the wet it makes it more difficult.

The commentary said if it was a dry day that the score may of been much worse. But I am not sure about that at all. I just think the game would of been played much different and can't really gauge to what it could of been at all.

I think the u18 players should all play 2-3 games in the vfl after the champs so you can see what them is play against men.

On another note how soft were we today - how many refused to bend down and pick the ball up- rather trying a kick off the ground.

ansonholt I bet you were just loving the fact you couldn't make it out there eh? Not because of the result but because it wasn't a great game to watch and it was bloody cold and raining.

I just got back from that game, it was rough. It was more a territory game and a game of intent and Casey was just better all around, they were hungrier for it. The rain got as bad as Round 1 in Cairns for a quarter, and only really cleared up at the tail end of the game. It was a real washout.

I wouldn't take too much away from this one. Not alot of positives to take away either. I think for those watching on TV it was better than it really was. It was just shocking. Doesn't help the umps were going Casey's way all day.

LDU was actually the highlight of the game, he had good intensity when needed, he was around the contest a fair bit, I don't see how one can say he was shit. He was one of the best on a very bad day for everyone.

Preuss was another one, he was good in the ruck and impacted the contest whenever he found himself there and he had the most shots on goal. He was really giving it a go.

Alot of knocks in this game, Tristan Xerri copped a fair whack, Durds was injured and LDU towards the end seemed to be having a bit of hammy tightness. I think there was a couple others. Casey didn't look as scathed as we did. For a VFL team we got alot of talls and they were the best of the bunch, Ben McKay was real positive all day, trying to will the defenders on, Tommy Murphy was having a crack as well.

I really wouldnt be too harsh on the boys for this day, conditions were shocking. I think anyone who does is just being a ****ing idiot to be honest.

Respect to you going out to watch it.

A dry day and everything is different.

I can't find the Demons team for today but from their game against * there were four players that played and won against us in the seniors earlier in the year (r 3) at least.
