Here is my crack at it, and even tho it seems Leon prefers going very tall I just feel we can not go with all of Corr, HH and Tomlinson and Corr is the unlucky one to miss for mine. As he doesn't have the flexibility of HH and Tomlinson but that said Corr does have very good closing speed and that might be preferred when it comes to some match ups over the course of the year. I have also gone with the speed and athleticism of Bonar over the focus and consistency of MDB. So Bonar have a great preseason and prove me right as we could so do with your speed in the front half.

B: Heath Shaw, Phil Davis, Nick Haynes

HB: Ryan Griffen, Adam Tomlinson, Zac Williams

C: Tom Scully, Stephen Coniglio, Josh Kelly

HF: Brett Deledio, Jeremy Cameron, Toby Greene

F: Tim Taranto, Jon Patton, Aiden Bonar

FOLL: Rory Lobb, Callan Ward, Dylan Shiel

I/C: Lachie Whitfield, Jacob Hopper, Harrison Himmelberg, Will Setterfield

HF: Deledio, Cameron, Greene
F: Patton, Taranto, De Boer
R: Lobb, Shiel, Ward

B: Whitfield, Kennedy, Hopper, Setterfield

I'm favouring going with Adam Kennedy over Corr and Setterfield instead of another tall in HH.

Honestly atm, I'm not sure Griffen will still be in the best 22 by season's end but I've got him in there for now.

FWIW I think this is the best starting 22 ive seen

Pretty sure Rayman confirmed a little while ago that A Kennedy won't be available for R1. If thats the case...he really shouldn't be in so many of these teams

I haven't seen that, and it's very significant asit akso indicates his pre-season will behampered. AlI I recall is various people indicating their clinical opinion of how long it should take. Can someone confirm or can you post a Link? Possible I missed it

Rayman's prob the closest link we have to the club and hist starting 22 assumes Kennedy and bunts wont be ready.

Not my point.
You weren't certain in your post, and it seemed to contradict what Kenners has said. I dont read it as definitive.
Raymann clarification would be appreciated.

I would think Bonar has a lot of ground to make up as far as running capacity goes. Can’t have many kms under the belt with two recos.

As a bit of a guide his yoyo result at the combine was level 20.5, while the 10th spot at the combine was taken by Gryan Miers with 21.5. So his starting base isn't terrible and look forward to seeing what percentage of preseason workload he is able to get thru.

Also here is clip of Bonar talking at the combine and mentions near the end all the work he has put in to get his fitness up to scratch

I guess the time trial on Monday will reveal all.

From the AFL website
He seems to have taken some creative licence with regards to the listed positions of some in order to justify his statement on a lack of midfield depth
But I am interested in posters thoughts on where Perryman fits in? I would have him as a half back/winger/outside mid but not sure on his kicking

B: Heath Shaw, Aidan Corr, Adam Tomlinson
HB: Zac Williams, Phil Davis, Nick Haynes
C: Tom Scully, Callan Ward, Lachie Whitfield
HF: Dylan Shiel, Jeremy Cameron, Toby Greene
F: Brett Deledio, Jonathon Patton, Tim Taranto
Foll: Rory Lobb, Stephen Coniglio, Josh Kelly
I/C: Jacob Hopper, Will Setterfield, Sam Reid, Ryan Griffen

DEPTH

General defenders: Matt Buntine, Isaac Cumming, Jeremy Finlayson, Harry Himmelberg, Adam Kennedy, Harry Perryman
Key defenders: Lachie Keeffe, Tim Mohr, Jake Stein, Sam Taylor
Midfielders: Nick Shipley
General forwards: Aidan Bonar, Dylan Buckley, Jack Buckley, Brent Daniels, Matt de Boer, Zac Langdon, Daniel Lloyd, Lachie Tiziani
Key forwards: Zach Sproule
Ruckmen: Matthew Flynn, Dawson Simpson

NOTES: The Giants look a little thin with their midfield depth outside the best 22, although Bonar, de Boer, Finlayson, Dylan Buckley, Lloyd and Reid can also play onball if needed. Keeffe gives them a ruck or key back option so he's a handy pick up, and they look well stocked for small/medium defenders. Of those not to make the starting 22, Kennedy, de Boer, Simpson, Bonar and Cumming are the most likely to force their way in, with several spots up for grabs over the pre-season. - Adam Curley

If Deledio stays injury free for the next 12 months, he will win the B&F next year.

In saying that he is probably injured?

Even in his peak years at the Tigers he wouldn't have matched Kelly's 2017.No chance for a b@f even if he gets back to his best.Having said that I hope he gets back to somewhere near top form

Other than a MDB/Reid swap and maybe Griffen/Kennedy, that looks pretty good for a best 22 estimate.

That is a possible team although looking at it i would say it is too slow although not sure on how fast Setterfield is and also Reid
My issue was how he listed so many players as general defenders or key defenders to make it out that the squad has issues in midfield and also key forwards but people who follow the game know that positional flexibility is important in the modern game and an example would be Keefe who could play key defense or attack and also ruck or in a tracksuit with the amount of talls at the club

I've found my life has been much improved since I stopped caring about what random people on the internet say about my team. :) Everyone has a barrow to push in some form.

I'll have a crack, think our forward line is the interesting one as I'm not sure if we go with 6 genuine forwards or have one or two resting mids

B: Shaw, Davis, Haynes
HB: Williams, Corr, Kennedy
C: Scully, Ward, Whitfield
HF: Greene, Cameron, Taranto
F: Deledio, Patton, De Boer
R: Lobb, Shiel, Kelly

I think during the early part of the season Griffen is in the best 22 but towards the end it is possible he has been passed by others although I hope missing most of last season and the opportunity for finals footy motivates him

I’m personally hoping he is pushed out early as I don’t want to lose the likes of Setterfield for nix due to lack of opportunity because of a bloke on the verge of retirement

It should be performance based, but if the midfield is looking slow i can see him being looked at first and also possibility that Deledio is as well although not sure which end of the ground he will be playing

I definitely want the kid that pushes him out to be based on merit. No free passes in my team. I don’t want to see another Stevie J scenario either where Leon practically carried him
