Well said, H. Don't understand the mentality of potting someone without knowing their story, then declining the opportunity to learn more.
Well I made that comment before I had read his comment.

Out of curiosity....you do your research and know everyone's personal story before making a comment on a particular player?

If you can't be bothered then I'm not going to waste my time trying to tell you what's in it.

But if you change your mind and do have a read then you may well learn something about life, humility, hardship, family illness and what it is like to grow up in a very different demographic to what most of us have grown up in.

But I'm not going to hold my breath on that. I'll just do my own silent protest and not look at any of the stuff that you post in future.

It’s well worth a read Horace and it’s certainly changed my own perception of the bloke. I knew of his Commission Home upbringing but not the rest of it.

Plus........

IMG_0726.JPG

.....his BFNAAK status of course.

IF we could shake the tree and somehow land him (doubtful atm I imagine) I’d be glad he’s a part of our group.

They need them for their hungry jacks franchises

The UWA Business School Board contains reps from major Eagles sponsors like BHP, at least one other people who is a current board member at the Eagles, plus the two most recent chairmen of the Eagles.

Several Eagles players have received scholarships from UWA Business School for an MBA

Which is quite the coincidence.

If he was a AFL player it was a bloody long time ago then...because it certainly hasn't been for a long time.

He was the weakest link in their side and part of the reason he was dropped a number of times. What I do know is the guy is useless. I also saw Sam Gibson make him like a total fool in a final, which may of been the same year of any accolades but I won't look it up as he's not worth my time :).

Archer said it himself. He is as soft as butter. And I could never imagine taking that guy into a final.

If I was to ever say a big NO to in the comp, it is this bloke. There'd be a few others but he isn't a fit for North.
Would of = would have or would've

Think of would as the same kinda word as may

You would not 'may of' anything
You may not use 'of' after would.

I work in mining, but wtf is BHP sponsoring the eagles (unless it's a community relations thing).

Pain in the ass of a client.

Having seen some of them talk, I'd be surprised if they could pass a finger painting class let alone an MBA.

We did a job for BHP back in '08 - 42 houses in PH. They used their own engineer and the clown under engineered 12 two story high end apartments. They were amended after they had the carpet laid in all bedrooms, in other words finished.

Cost - $12M

LOL

They also had their dickhead safety advisors on site making molehills into mountains.

WTF is BHP doing spending money on TV ads? It's not as though TV watchers buy their products!

Getting contracts with them is such a pain in the ass. And then getting money out of them is a nightmare. Junior mining companies are good payers but BHP and Rio Tinto are two of the tightest companies around.

I use my own eyes, mate. It's not that hard to be objective about players from other teams if you watch enough football.

My view is he's clearly not a spud and it's a very easy opinion to support. I don't think your assessment is supported by the facts, simple as that.

No need to know their back story, and most of Ellis's story was new to me from what Horace posted. But you chose to go all in on the guy and maybe would have been a bit more circumspect about continuing the over the top criticism if you read it.

We didnt have to deal with them as a builder was the principal contractor, but they made sure they had "hands" on everything.

10m3 bins parked at every apartment with brand new kitchens, bathrooms, light fittings, window coverings etc etc just thrown out and taken to the tip.

It was GOLD after they had walked around for 6 months like they were king shit .

Well I meant more in relation to negative comments. If we knew everyone's back story no one would/could say anything and that's not using one eyes; thats premonition if it's not public knowledge. And it's just offering one's opinion...whether rightly or wrongly on what they know.

But like I said I probably did get carried away, and I admitted that.

But my opinion of him (imo) is justified to what I see and I am pretty strong, like others, to not wanting him on our list. And then there are others who would like it on the other side of the camp.

He's always been shouting "come and get me north"

Agreed. No one in the general public is going to purchase a few million tonnes of coking coal or iron ore.

It’s all about their image. Companies advertise not just to sell products but to improve or change their image in the community which can be important.

Balmey saying they want to keep Ellis is just flat out lies. They stopped playing him by the end of the season and know he has a bit of value based on his previous years form. You don't keep a 25 year old previous AA and premiership player on the list if you feel you have gone past him for whatever reason.

Primarily on the fact he BFNAAK I'm happy to have him. Seriously though - he would fit a need for us and can rack up possession so would be worth considering. Maybe the pick from the Preuss trade would be enough. I would think Richmond are paying him a decent salary and could potentially like that cash back in the bank given they have stretched to get Lynch.

I'd of of picture him more sucking on his momma's teats to be honest but he probably does that too.
