Jack is a very honest footballer in a very good team. He plays a role but we currently have 44 of those on our list. He also has a bung shoulder. As you said, he is not in your best 22 and he is not the kind of player that will improve our team.

I would be disappointed if we were chasing him but it would not surprise me. Strangely, some of his best footy has been against us so we may be tempted to pay overs for him.

I agree. Jack is a nothing footballer at this level who had the stars align and played a key part in a grand final win. The list of mediocre players doing that is pretty large.

I would also be very disappointed if we were even considering anything more than a DFA contract. DFA I could understand at least, even if it was just to allow our 2nds to have a bit more consistency/we didn't think Poholke was up to it as a backup.

He is a typical player the Crows would chase. I don't see Richmond being too worried about him leaving.

I don't think he will make our team better, but he will bring consistency (more than our current players bring to games). He won't be worth the cash that we offer.

Meanwhile Brisbane took Cameron off us lol that's a quality pick up we need. Still yet to blossom, but huge upside potential.

Maybe that old memory protecting you from the trauma of the '17 GF mate? Tagged Sloane and kicked a couple himself
Rings a bell

Don't we have a history of getting players that do well against us or is that a furphy ? ie Hampton?

Ok I'm old , I admit that and some days my memory is terrible , today seems to be one of those days

Who is Jack Graham again?

A bog average depth-quality midfielder who had one good game on grand final day

To a degree, every club does. It'd be easier to make a coach say yes to someone who has a habit of performing against you.

Bit harsh on Graham I think - been a decent player in an excellent midfield. He’s not a game changer sure, although he completely changed the GF, but he is a bigger defensive body which I think might be useful ina young emerging midfield.

Keays played that role last week with some degree of success, maybe we’ll keep him there and if he nails it down, the role could stay with him.

If we lose a Crouch or two, he could potentially come in and play that no frills inside clearance midfielder who you could inject more talented midfielders around. As I said in another thread, similar goes for players like SPP, Hately, Will Brodie, Charlie Constable and there's probably a few others around available on the cheap.

I am not sure if I am looking into this too much, but if the Crows are looking at getting Graham could they be preparing to lose Brad Crouch? Or is this an insurance policy if we do lose him?

Were they not good enough?

Jake Lever was dropped for the 2015 finals series so we could bring back Mackay
Milera only played two batches of 4 games and zero after the bye in 2016
Doedee didn't play for two years
Jones played 3 games, then injured, then two batches of two games
Fogarty only played 4 of his 10 games consecutively in 2018 then didn't play until round 20 in 2019

That does not look like giving these players opportunities. You can't honestly believe these players were so bad they only deserved 4 games in a row at AFL level as a first year player

Lever was dropped twice for returning injured players. Wouldn't have played if not for injuries.
Otten chosen ahead of Doedee back end of 2017, says it all.

How anyone can believe our kids get genuine chances is beyond me. They've never backed in for a decent block and unlike nearly every other club, our's always arrive unprepared for footy at the highest level. Even the aerobic animals aren't ready.

Gallucci had his debut in Brisbane R9 2017. He gets 11 possessions, 3 I50’s, 4 score inv, 3 tackles and a goal.

He’s dropped after that 1 game when the next week we play a rubbish Freo and win by 100 pts.

Out: Mackay (omit)
In: Gooch

Mackay travelling emergency, does not play

Out: Gooch
In: Mackay

Our philosophy has been to work out how best to get our preferred 22 at the start of the year into form for our assault on the flag having burned those 22 falling into the 8.

Thank Christ that's changed.

I worry about Jack's durability, he needs to change his technique or his shoulders won't allow him to have a long career.

Would be happy to have him at a price

As much as I hate Kane Cornes, he did a fair job in today’s ‘tiser of painting a snapshot of our recent draft failures. I no longer have the same blind faith in Ogilvie I once had. It’s going to be a long ride for all us.

It wasn't his article, it's been written 5 times before.

Yeah look Graham would be okay, I can see him being a solid get, but only if Brouch leaves. Won't ever be our best midfielder but could turn out to be a pretty good 4th option

Wouldn't pay more than a pick over 30 for him
