I tend to agree with this.
Problem is the D4 position is hard to fill. Back rookies are looking light on and it's unlikely we are blessed with another Finlayson, Doedee, Murray trio. And going a premo compromises the rest of the team too much.

I think guys like Newman, B. Smith could be decent d4 defenders maybe even add Birchall if hes fit. These guys can and have averaged 90+ before and could well do so now at a reduced price. worth taking a risk on i would imaginePiggerd

Ive gone Lloyd Laird Whitfield the rest rookies. Banking on them to carry the load early on. That will change if there arent enough rookies to start.

Last year my defence became an absolute shit show at the end of the season.
I had players that I now detest because they made my already shitty team even shittier (L Ryan / Hurley's last six games). Then I had a bunch of corpses in Howe and Witherden.
Yet since my sweet boy Blakely's hammy went twwwwang, all these shit trucks have all been filtering in and out of my team.
Why do I do this to myself?
I've finally kicked the Rockliff itch, but it's been replaced already by Luke ****ing Ryan, he averaged 68.5 while in my team last year, but on paper he looks like a decent pick.
I don't even know what the campaigner looks like.

Should there be a limit on the number of Freo players in SC sides .....Valente, Bewly, Fyfe ?
I had Ryan last year, bought cheap, and he did a great job .....but Freo fell away badly in the 2nd half of the season, and Ryan did likewise .....can we trust the Freo side ....I refuse to !

I try not to pick more than 3 premos from same team, but you pick any rookie with a heart beat and a spot in the ones on the weekend regardless.
Can see teams starting with 4 Carlton rookie priced players in Walsh, Stocker, Setterfield and Gibbons if they all get up, 3 of them all on the same line too.

Personally I am wary of Ryan in SC. Was great to start with last year.
While I agree he will gain a few from the new kickout rule, his point generation is really intercept marking. I think a fit and firing Logue is likely to steal a lot of those points. He could go either way, but it is risky at 490k

How's Logue going this PS ? .....is he likely to be more than a 50-65 point scorer?
Crumbled whenever he was tagged and it became so bad they switched him to being a forward from memory.

Seems like running with the Crispy boy at D2 isn't that common. I don't mind that. Brought him in late last season and wished I had done it sooner.

Lloyd and Laird are clearly my 2 favourites...and I went with a cash saving in Whitfield.
If Birchall and Minchington die, i will probs get in 2 playing rookies and upgrade Whitfield to Sicily, but currently I like those 3 starters

I am going tried and tested. 3 primos on both the backs and fwds. Birchall will hopefully get fit and prove a solid D4.
No mid pricers. None will be top 6's and i will need to end up burning them. I need a change up.
