Moved on Sloane for libba...and upgradeded Neale to Macrae now not sure if want Oliver or Brayshaw ?
Oliver is a good choice, but I'm a bit suss about Clarke as R2. Fyfe is a good pick but I worry about his ability to rack up 22 games, maybe look at downgrading him to a Libba/Brouch and upgrading to a better R2?

down graded Sloane to libba Oliver to Brayshaw and used cash to upgrade forwards cavarra to rosse and owies to Elliott should he preform well if not back to rookie forward and Fyfe upgrade
Rucks I’m happy to wait on Clarke

Def: Lloyd, Witherden, Newman, Williams, Collins, Hore (170k,170k)

Mid: Macrae, Cripps, Brayshaw, B.Crouch, Libba, Walsh, Constable, Gibbons (170k,170k)

Ruck: Grundy, Goldy (170k,170k)

For: Danger, Devon, Heeney, Worpel, Setterfield, Drew (170k,170k)

Thoughts lads? Is it too mid priced with 5? Although I see Newman as a keeper

Williams and Brouch could be too, even Libba, Worpel OK at F4. Good stepping stones at the least

New team and it is pretty extreme mid price madness but i just see more value going down this method over the rookies at the moment. Happiest i have been with my team all pre season.

Interesting you say midpriced madness. You've got 3 DEF rookies and 2 FWD rookies (plus Setterfield) on field.
To me that's quite an aggressive rookie strategy, particular with the lack of depth of DEF & FWD rookies at the moment.

Def: Laird, Lloyd, Newman, Williams, Duursma, Scrimshaw (Mckay, Hore)

Mid: Cogs, Cripps, M. Crouch, B. Crouch, Miles, Libba, Walsh, Constable (Gibbons, Bewley)

Ruc: Grundy, Goldy (Fort, Cameron)

Fwd: Danger, Boak, Parfitt, Setterfield, Parker, Cavarra (Balta, Petrucelle)

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Feel like I've gone a little overboard with mid-pricers but at the same time, I see so much value in a lot of these guys. I'm not overly happy with my forwards but at this stage it's the best I can come up with.

Don't mind this setup. First one to go would be Mitchy Rob

Def:
Laird, Lloyd, Witherden, Whitfield, Z.Williams, McGrath (Hore, Collins)

Mid:
Oliver, Zorko, Taranto, B.Crouch, Libba, Walsh, Butters, Constable (Gibbons, B.Scott)

Ruck:
Goldstein, Z.Clarke (Smith, Fort)

Forward:
Danger, Heeney, Billings, McCarthy, Setterfield, Balta (M.Parker, Burgess)

Stacked the defence a bit due to 1. The plethora of mid rookie options 2. The new kick in rule, and 3. Not rating the Fwd premo's. Could swap a few of the rookies out for others. Could upgrade Clarke to Grundy but I'm not sold on him averaging 120 again, might wait for his price to drop a little then pounce.

Fwd line too weak. When Elliot goes down you'll have 3 unknown rookies in your fwd line

Post JLT 1 team.
Main in's were Newman, Clark, Crae, Duncan, Libba, LDU, Heeney and Boak.
Whit, Cripps (most likely to come back in), Dunkley and Telly were the main outs.

EDIT Buckley :drunk: > Balta.

Post JLT 1 team. The fwd rookies look very miserable this year in terms of scoring potential and even JS. Hence my decision to try to save money through the backline and go big with the forwards.

Trying to go as guna & rookies as i can but i think b. Crouch, libba, witherden, mcgrath & williams are all too good to pass up.

Opinions very much welcome.

There is not a great deal 'wrong' with this side.

The elephant in the room for your team and many, many others i see here (including my own) is the number of rookies.

You have 8 on the field, and I reckon there are only 3 of them that have a better than 50% chance of playing round 1.

I think everyone's in a similar boat in terms of rooks and their rd 1 chances.
Fluffing one or two of them up is an option I have by culling Clarke at R3 and 22k spare.

Currently rolling with this midpricey team. Personally finding this years starting team to make more difficult than any year I've previously played.

Backs - Laird I think is a must have to start the season especially with how easy Adelaide's draw is. Withers should improve (other options around his price and lower as well). Smith/Williams both very good value. Hopefully the rookies play and play well like most of those have in the JLT.

Mids - Macrae is perma-captain. Brayshaw should go up another notch this year, as should Taranto. This is where it gets dicey. See Brouch as scoring at premium levels so feel safe enough with him. Ahern/Lib I can see scoring well and will both play pure midfield in their respective sides. Could be banking on one too many mid pricers here though. Is Constable doesn't make the team I change him to Atkins/Gibbons.

Rucks - speak for themselves

Forwards - Danger/Heeney locks. Liked what I saw of Billings and like the Saints fixtures a lot. No Stevens as well so banking on Billings playing midfield where he finished last season. McCarthy looked very good. Feel he gives me security over a rookie and we all know how poor the rookies in the fwds are looking. If unsure about him after JLT2 I coul trade him to Elliot. Setters picks himself. Last spot will try to rotate through whoever is looking best or has the best matchup.

Options I can do to get more cash and make changes:
- Goldy instead of Gawn
- Newman/Mills/McGrath instead of Withers
Above would allow me to upgrade Ahern to someone like Cogs/Oliver/Treloar/Beams .etc.

Do most of you guys go for 2 top rucks in Grundy and Gawn? Or pick one and use the extra cash?

DEF: Lloyd Witherden B.Smith Z.Williams Collins Duursma (Burgess Hore)

MID: Treloar Kelly Oliver Cripps B.Crouch Liberatore Walsh LDU (Constable Gibbons)

RUCK: Grundy English (Cameron Xerri)

FWD: Dangerfield Heeney J.Martin Setterfield Corbett Drew (Petrucelle Owies)

Plus 165k spare

I like it but fore me youve got 1 too many with ahern. Id downgarde him to LDU and upgrade mccarthy to a player just under the 600k mark.

Cheers for the feedback. Very likely I could do that. Personally think Ahern is a ripper pick so could cull Lib ahead of him. Either way there’s options though I suppose. I’m sure the team will change 642 times prior to round 1 anyway

I do think ahern can up his average to around 85 maybe 90. But i think LDU wont be too fsr behind him and is much cheaper.

I'm the same, in that I see Newman as a keeper. As I've said to others, be wary with Constable, because I'm not sure that he plays Round 1 given the depth of our midfield
