I'm all for the cheap second ruck, I have Rory Lobb, but in his side, that'd be my worry..
We've all gotta sacrifice somewhere.

Don't wanna go with Gawn as Preuss coming in may see his role change. Lobb doesn't seem as appealing as English, who should improve on last year and JLT form looks really good. If the Bulldogs go with one ruck, his price should really inflate.

Good point with Duursma. Looked really impressive against North on Saturday. Cheers.

Didn't preuss get a knock on the weekend?

Any thoughts

Call me crazy but a team based almost entirely on job security...

Laird, Lloyd, B. Smith, Z. Williams, Ridley, Duursma (H. McKay, Hore)
Macrae, Angus Brashaw, Sheed, M. Crouch, Liberatore, Walsh, Davies-Uniacke, Butters (Scott, Gibbons)
Grundy, Gawn (A. Smith, Cameron)
Dangerfield, Heeney, Worpel, Elliot, L. McCarthy, Setterfield (Drew, Parker)

Lloyd, Whitfield, Williams, Smith, Duursma, Scrimshaw, (170k, 170k)

Treloar, Brayshaw, Merrett, Taranto, B.Crouch, Liberatore, Walsh, Scott, (Constable, 170k)

Grundy, Gawn, (170k, 170k)

Dangerfield, Dunkley, Billings, Setterfield, Parker, Drew, (170k, 170k)

Would happily go into round 1 with this team If I knew the forward rookies would be able to preform at a minimum 50 ppg, but I just don’t see that happening.

If Constable and Scott are both named they probably have the best scoring potential for that price over a Parker or Burgess. Which would mean one of Taranto or Merrett may make way for Tim Kelly and give me the extra premium in the forward line and a better mid rookie on field.

Tough decisions.

Have gone ahead and done a bit of a restructure today, I felt my premos looked fantastic but my rookie choices were far from confidence inspiring. With this current setup I feel a lot more confident that come round 1 if there is a shortage of rookies I'll have a lot more flexibility. The main 2 points of my team that had to be sacrificed was my midfield top end strength, and the downgrade of Gawn to Goldy.

I Honestly can't believe I have Rocky in my team, but the money saved from going T.Taranto to him allowed me to make improvements elsewhere. Although he has questionable durability and who knows if he will get the role we are after, but at that price point and his insane ceiling and scoring ability it seems pretty low risk.

Upgrading a $170k mid up to cousins also makes my midfield look a lot safer, he seems like a no brainer at that price, should have solid job security and role, could easily score at 80-90 and generate some really good cash. After all he is only $59k less than the top priced rookies. Have also introduced Clark and Duursma into the backline which looks a much better bet than any of the $170k rookie defenders.

I'll see if I can hold onto this structure for more than a few days

DEF: Lloyd, Whitfield, Smith, Williams, Duursma, Scimshaw (Hore, Burgess)

MID: Congs, Crippa, Rocky, Sheed, B.Crouch, Libba, Walsh, Constable (Gibbons, Scott)

RUCK: Grundy, Goldy (Fort, Cameron)

FWD: Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Worpel, Setters, Drew (Petrucelle, Parker)

Most likely round 1 team

Basically the exact same structure as my side with a couple of minor changes.

G'day. First post. Any input is appreciated.

Def: Lloyd, Witherden, Smith, Williams, Clark, Scrimshaw (Nutting, Hore)

Mid: Macrae, Coniglio, Cripps, Brayshaw, Brouch, Walsh, LDU, Constable (Gibbons, Hind)

Ruck: Grundy, English (Cameron, Fort)

Fwd: Danger, Heeney, Boak, Worpel, Setterfield, Drew (Burgess, Xerri)

All 170k bench subject to change, especially ruck/fwd. Main concerns are boak (swapped between him and kelly multiple times) and roookies such as LDU and Clark. Cheers
Nice team, and welcome to the board!

He's going for scans, but he should still be back early in the year. I just see Gawn as too expensive considering even just the possibility of Preuss in the team. Rather save 350k and turn a rookie into a b. crouch in the midfield.

From what I saw during JLT, will be playing in the VFL for a fair bit, until he improves in a lot of areas

Hey guys. Just looking for an opinion on my team.

I think it's pretty strong, particularly the midfield.

The weakest position would be Forward Line i'd say.

What's your guys opinion on boaky? he will be playing mid if JLT is anything to go by.

and how about rocky? is there anyone else for 620k or under that you think would be a far safer option?

Cheers

Drop Laird to Williams and upgrade Parker to Worpel. Would be pretty balanced then I'd say :)

Its a good team. I would get rid of Parker unless you want him on the bench. Also if English causes you problems you will find it hard to move him.

It’s reached that point where I’m just going to back in my selected team. Followed them all preseason, looked at the draw for each team and there comes a point I just need to back my decisions and not follow the crowd so too speak. Confident I’ll head into round 1 with this line up pending any late injuries or surprise rookie selections

Back: Lloyd, crisp, smith, Williams, Clark, Duursma (scrimshaw, Hore)

Mid: macrae, Brayshaw, Steele, Rocky, b crouch, Libba, Walsh, Scott (gibbons, Constable/Atkins)

Ruck: Grundy, Goldstein (fort, Cameron)

Fwd: danger, boak, kelly, Elliot, Setterfield, drew (pettrucele, balta)

We legitimately have identical Back and Ruck lines.

In fact the only differences in our side are Macrae, Steel, Rocky, Boak and Kelly
