Happy with our fixture to be honest, but reckon we got done pretty rough compared to what other teams around us got. We double up against all Prelim finalists whereas Richmond, remembering they finished 1st, play Carlton, Pies, GWS, Melb and Port. WC feel just about right given they're interstate but happy either way. Just a bit disappointing that the minor prems were given another dream run into the finals.

see, when interstate fans were saying 'why are stkilda, carlton and footscray playing primetime games, they should put good teams only' what they were really saying was 'if non victorian teams dont play every primetime game then vicco bias'

Or we were saying the good teams should play only? WC are probably a decent team..considering they you know, won the flag and all.

Gold Coast have zero games on FTA.
Of course, their 22 games are live into QLD, and whenever they play a WA/SA/NSW team it will air in the respective team's home state.
has this ever happened before to any team? I know we had 1 last year as did Brisbane from memory

13 homes games at the MCG

I got no idea what you’re sooking about, 9 homes games is less than 13 last time I checked.

Don’t forget your mob gets 7 straight home games...you can hardly be complaining about other teams home ground games.
I'm not complaining about Richmond's draw, I'm saying Geelong have an unfair advantage compared to other clubs.Interstate clubs with a home gtound advantage like Geelong's have to travel by plane 10 times a year, while Geelong just drive up the highway .

The only difference is Collingwood know how to win away from the G whereas Richmond have NFI (based on 2018).

Imagine the AFL allowing us to play our home games at our home ground, at least we dont get smashed on our home ground when it counts;)
At least we're a chance, old straight sets Geelong scrape in every year after beating Freo by 150 points at Kardinia.

In the end, "dream run" in H&A season means nothing if you can't continue that into finals. So I don't care who we play. How many times or where. If you have a good team you should be able to win anywhere. No matter where you place at the end means nothing and does not guarantee you a premiership. Just ask Adelaide or Richmond. Taking one round at a time is what I prefer to do, and see where the ball falls.

You do realise the reason St Kilda went 12-10 in 2016 and 11-11 in 2017 was their soft draw right?

https://squiggle.com.au/how-the-fixture-screwed-st-kilda/

From 2014-2018, St Kilda’s draw has been rated as this:

18th, 18th, 9th, 18th, 18th

Where 1st is the easiest draw, and 18th is the most difficult. Our “soft draw” in 2016 was 9th easiest - middle of the road; can’t say the same for a 2017 “soft draw” when it was the most difficult, like it was in 2014, 2015, and 2018.

The full analysis is in the article I linked, and draws are rated based on opposition quality, the timing of facing said opposition (since there are fluctuations in form, injuries, suspension, etc), and weighted home ground advantage (or lack thereof).
