I wouldn't stress, Patton's heart is set on Hawthorn.
Mate there’s no way in hell Patton will sign on with a club that plays their home games on a concrete surface. When he signs for us (yeah I’m confident) I wouldn’t be surprised if Patton doesn’t play any games at Marvel and more than likely Optus stadium and at least until he gets his confidence right.

surely the talk about McEvoy playing back and Pitto and Cegs sharing the ruck with Patton and Lewis down in the forward line was posturing at its finest.
who is going to believe we would play a game with them 5 in the same line up

Has no less value than Witts, Hampson or Nankervis when they were traded tbh. We had a contract offer for him, they chased him. He has value.
Tom Boyd would be a better get than Longer.
2mP would be fairly high on the wish list I suspect
Love 2mp but he’s useless in the ruck and now we are overstocked in the key forward department so don’t think it’s any chance. More than likely we just grab a ready made backup ruck from the state leagues with pick 100

All 3 can run faster than Pitto in the modern game that is actual value. (McEvoy is slow but can run all day Pitto couldn't outpace him) Unless it a two horse race, he has no value as only one team wants him, the team who does want him picks him up in draft. If even smarter the pre-season draft. At best a late third or early 4th I would think. That's could still be value if we can find more Mitchell Lewis's with those picks.
Despite his excellent draft combine read 2 phantom drafts by supposed experts who still didn’t rate him in the top 20 .
Pitto leaving is probably a blessing really. Carlton have pick 48 which is probably about the mark for a 23 year old ruckman who hasn’t proven himself. It should also be enough to satisfy GWS for Patton

The rumours are strong that the trades for all 5 players who have nominated St Kilda will go through tomorrow. I suspect that also means that the Bruce trade will as well.

People thinking about Essendon and patton, it won't happen deal to Hawthorn is done just 1.
waiting on the exact 3rd round pick we have after Pittonet trade and also perhaps other deals. And 2. Waiting till the cameras are there for it to go on telly and look suspenseful.
In my opinion Essendon should not and will not trade Daniher at all unless they get Ben brown or Jeremy Cameron in. Keep him go to the contract at least one more year and heavily target a replacement. They are aiming to contend now so they desperately need him as the key forward. An 18 year old draftee doesn't help them win a flag.

Surely that time has passed, if by some miracle we pull off a massive trade that nobody has leaked, then we truly are a vault.
Just don’t see it happening, not sure why the media constantly run with this ‘what are we up to‘ mentality. We are extremely fair and easy to deal with unlike some clubs.

Because last year we went in with a plan to get Shiel and came out with Wingard and Scully.
But yeah - you're right. There's not enough time to swoop and get anything new done. We needed Monday to be a frantic trade fest to open up some new opportunities.
I mean, we still haven't got the Patton deal done and Garry Lyon is suggesting we'll have some whopper deal that we get on the last day that nobody has any view of.
I think we'll get Frost and Patton in, Birchall and Pitto out.
If there was some way we could swoop in and get Papley would be awesome.

The way Clarko spoke after the last round and Jeff’s letter made it sound like the Hawks were going to be quite active this offseason. Although we still may delist some beloved players im starting to think maybe things haven’t gone quite to plan this trade period.
