He’s worth that. When you look at players who have warranted that in the past, he’s worth that. Whitfield might be the most damaging but Gaff is the most consistent outside midfielder in the competition. The odds of getting a player better than Gaff with either of two first round picks is low. He would change our entire midfield dynamic.
In truth he and Tim Kelly are pretty close to a straight swap - with maybe a bit of weighting Gaff’s way due to having played multiple excellent seasons. If we are to get in on the conversation it’s probably Geelong we’d need to satisfy.

I’m not against the club going after Gaff. The problem is giving up 2 first round picks. He’s not worth that in my opinion.

Hendo is the only one that resembles a defender. The other 3 play like they would like to pretend to defend with arm tackles & half arsed body spoils that look like a monkey slipping in his own poo trying to catch a banana
The upside is we don't have internal rifts due to pay imbalance

Pick 10 for Gaff could go either way. Gun mid for 2-5 years or 1 bad injury and a solid 3 Year player at best.
Our strategy probably means if their is no Lachie type option it would be worth a punt. Best case scenario is we do well and create excitement to lure players like Lachie here next year.

I'm not saying Gaff is worth 2 1sts at his age now and personally just don't think it'll happen full stop. But you cant compare trades to the Mitchell deal and how that panned out in hindsight because if you do you'd only have to pay a 2nd round pick for players like Chad Wingard.
