Talk of pick 9 from Carlton not even being enough for him, they are demanding the world and i am not for overpaying for a small forward no matter how good he is.

Swans are rubbish.

They will take pick 9 for him everyday of the week for a player that is disgruntled and wants out.

Papley will be traded and is up for grabs. 💯.

They can posture and sook all they want about him being contracted but he is coming back to Victoria.

Exactly, despite people saying 'yuck' & not wanting him, he is exactly what we need. Especially so since we have an ageing Breust & Poppy, he is also the best small that's been 'available' for a fair while.

Did you really just mention Breust and Poppy’s age in the same sentence? You do realise Breust is only 28 right? Poppy is gonna be 32 at Xmas so has 4 years on Breust so those 2 are like apples and oranges when mentioning age.

You do realise that Breust is going to be 29 at Xmas right? So there's 3 years difference between them not 4. Small forwards also generally have a sharp drop off in form in their 30's.
We can't just rely on Hanrahan & Breust as our small forwards (Wingard to a lesser extent due to his midfield time). We need another proven small that is 22-25 so that we can continue to develop our young smalls without having to rely on them too soon.

Abassi why do you view Fyfe as so important to Fremantle?

Do you think he is crucial to their success? Do you think he will be a part of their success?

Judd had better leadership skills and West Coast won that trade by a landslide even without fully utilising pick three.

Yeah Abassssi - why do you view a 2 time Brownlow medallist as so important to Fremantle huh??!?!??

Gunston has kicked over 50 goals four times in his career, and had a season of 46 as well. O'Brien hasn't even kicked 50 career goals yet.

They are the same height and only two years apart in age. Neither are true CHF's.

The very best case, dream, scenario is that O'Brien develops into a player as good as Gunston. Luckily we already have a player as good as Gunston on the list.
O'Brien at this stage seems a much more viable option for CHF than Gunston.

yes the dream scenario is that O'Brien becomes as good as Gunston, but as i said I don't think success will come on the back of having a heavy reliance of Breust/Gunston to score.

We need to unearth the next generation of goalscorers, we will not be prepared to win a flag sooner rather than later if we don't move quickly to find new scoring options.

He'd be a near perfect Poppy replacement, but don't reckon the club is willing to part ways with up to 2 1st rounders just to fulfill that need.

Club's probably backing in the development of Hanrahan, Walker, Moore, Nash instead to see that position filled in a cheaper way and leave some currency to be spent on other areas.

If he and Jamie Elliot were both 100% healthy, I'd probably take Elliot due to his marking ability. Feel that Elliot's aerial capabilities would be great for out bailout kicks down the line, compared to Poppy just constantly getting outmarked.

Oh absolutely. Papley would cost way too much to get so would prefer Elliot on value myself. Just think we absolutely need another gun small forward that is younger than Breust but older than Hanrahan
