Rofl imagine the pressure Adelaide would be under in an Adelaide vs Carlton grand final with them not having lost a game all season.

I think any non-vic club goes in underdog against a vic club on gf day. Carlton would have already embarrassed everyone but us to get there. It would be unbelievably humiliating for sure, but all clubs in the AFL should be ashamed of themselves if Carlton win the 2019 flag :)

With more games into players, and less long term injuries, 5-6 wins is definitely achievable.

That'll be enough to edge Carlton out of the bottom 4

Where are you getting these 5-6 wins from? Can you please state the games you will win?

Carlton has an inferior head to head record for the past 5 games, of all those teams in the bottom 4.

I actually believe the Suns will roll Carlton in Round 4 at home.

So Port, Dogs, Suns and Saints all have 5 or less wins is what you're saying?

Need I remind you that Port only narrowly missed finals, and Bulldogs were way, way in front of Carlton last year with a younger, less experienced playing list. Why would either of those teams drop below Carlton? Let alone Saints

Carlton potentially could lose their fist 9 games comfortably in 2019.

My Ladder Predictions for 2019:
1. Port Adelaide- their time to dominate the year, but will choke in the finals
2. Sydney- franklin kicks 100 (shared flag with collingwood for drawing 2 many times in extra time)
3. Richmond- becoming the preliminaryMOND lol
4. Adelaide- knocked port out in the finals
5. Collingwood- choking in big games (shared flag with sydney swans for drawing 2 many times in extra time)
6. West Coast- only wins home games, still makes the finals
7. Western Bulldogs- just sneakn in
8. Essendon- last game win in the finals
9. GWS- on the fall
10. North Melbourne- won the first 11 games, lose the next 11
11. Hawthorn- mid season slump
12. Geelong- lose the last 8 games of the year, though set record comeback last quater win against suns, came back from 10 goals in last qtr
13. Fremantle- won 4 games in a row by a point
14. Brisbane- new gabba fortress era
15. Melbourne- back to the old days of losing
16. St Kilda- comeback kings, but would still fall short anyway, though they did record a 60 point comeback win vs melbourne
17. Gold Coast- only 1 win, against carlton
18. Carlton- only a draw, against geelong

Carlton could potentially lose all 22 games tbh

If you look at the Carlton draw their first 9 games they could go winless quite comfortably.
I agree.

Round 18 is possibly the only game they could potentially go into as favorites.

History tells you they will win a couple of games but it is honestly quite possible that they do not win a game in 2019 imo

I honestly dont think who the Blues line up against matters that much.

I know it sounds trite but what they bring is what matters. If the playing groul find some belief they have the talent to do better and wins will come.

I'll make one prediction now before practice games. (These games will hold more baring this year due to rules changes, so it's all major guess work at the minute) I'll make another one a week before Round 1!

1. Richmond -So many games at the MCG, can't see them dropping away and they should remain flag favorites after last year's shock exit.
2. Melbourne - The Dees have it all to lose IMO, they should play off against the Tigers. Watch out if they don't, those elbow patches will be ripped off in unison by every member if they finish less than 4th! Yes, the pressure is on to deliver!
3. Collingwood - I've been trying to find a reason to see them slip, but i think Buckley might have the talent to get them close again. The first round will be a bottler and i'm looking forward to that one.
4. Essendon -With their aggressive trade and recruiting campaign you would think anything less than top 4 will be expected. The Pressure is on Worsfold big time.
5. Adelaide- Injuries, depth and attitude is the key here, some bizarre things occur over at Adelaide, but they should bounce back?.
6. Geelong - Picked up some good young players and traded well, how does Ablett go up forward in a forward line that was 4th highest scoring in 2018? Will Kelly play out of his skin or sulk because he's still there? Lots of if's and but's about my team, so my bias puts them 6th. They will debut several new young players that are raring to go.
7. West Coast- The Premiers may have spent all their pennies last year, ruck strength severely hampered by no Nic Nat and Lycett defection. I have a bad feeling about the Eagles chances this year. 7th might be flattering?
8. Brisbane - My roughy for the 8 are the Lions. Neale will make a huge impact and much better value for them than Beams. They will upset many teams at home and win enough games to make the finals!

9. Port Adelaide - Kenny might be emptying portables if they don't improve this season and if they fail Kochie might think he works on the "Today Show" and sack everybody!
10. GWS- What a dent to the list? It's like they have to restart every year, could take a bit of a tumble as the depth might not be there?
11. North Melbourne - The mystery team, i just don't know about them, too good to bottom out, not good enough to challenge the very best.
12. Western Bulldogs - The Bullies are all over the place since winning the Flag, another mystery team, but surely they've settled by now?
13. Hawthorn- Always dangerous leaving the "Poos" out of the equation, but it's hard to make a case for them without Mitchell. Clarkson is a shrewd character, he'll be presenting alternatives to the problem early on in the season which might see them get thumped a couple of times, but never under estimate what he's up too long term.
14. Fremantle- Ross the boss is on his last legs, nothing much will change here, because he can't change! Dockers fans are being dudded. Why couldn't they lure Kelly? How did they lose Neale? 14th might be generous!
15. Sydney. Another tumbling team, if Franklin is stuffed then so are the Swans! They lost six games at home last year!!
16. St.Kilda - The Hapless Saints will probably panic and sack the coach by June. Hannebery is a huge risk.
17. Carlton - The Blues have the best recruit in the competition, but it will be hard going again for this injury ridden team. The Blues might panic in the coaches box mid year also? I expect Ratten to be coaching either the Saints or Blues by August!
18. Gold Coast- A chopping block all year...might win 2 or 3 games at home, but overall it will be surf, sun, and sadness for their supporters in 2019.

It's hard work predicting the AFL ladder so early in the year, but it feels even harder than usual for this upcoming season. There are a couple of clubs that should be right at the top and likewise a couple that will predictably struggle, but as for the rest I think there are cases for most teams to make for having a succesful year. It just feels so even. Melbourne look to be very strong.

You predicted WC would lose almost every game last season. Don't deny it as I can retrieve the evidence to support it. So any prediction you have about WC is clearly incorrect

And as usual You will be off them after they lose a couple in a row.

I don't think they're much chop...I put them 7th and they could easily finish 12th? A wise man once said "The thing about dealing with predicting the future is that, at some point, the future happens and then we get to look back at everyone who was laughably wrong "...I don't really care where the Eagles finish, i don't care if i'm laughably wrong, we're all guessing in mid February, none of us know how the teams will adjust to the new rules!

I just don't think they're much chop. I've placed them 7th, but that could easily be as low as 12th? A wise man once said " The thing about dealing with predicting the future is that, at some point, the future happens and then we get to look back at everyone who was laughably wrong". Well, i don't really care where the Eagles finish

From the Ladder Predictor:

1. Richmond 18-4: Tons of games at the G plus Lynch (if fit) should see them finish top (or thereabouts)
2. West Coast 17-5: Should win every game at home and have broken the away game/MCG hoodoo. Will be interesting to see if they're hungry for more success
3. Melbourne 17-5: Will be more consistent and the loss of Hogan is offset by May and Lever coming into the side (they didn't rely too much on Hogan anyway). Tough to beat cause of their contested ball
4. Adelaide 14-8: Could go either way. Expect them to jump back with players returning from injury. Difficult to beat in Adelaide anyway
5. Collingwood 14-8: Will be thereabouts and hungry but tougher draw will cause them to slide a bit
6. Essendon 13-9: Will improve from last year but not as much as media experts (Slobbo) expect. Are always difficult to beat at Docklands. Daniher's return helps
7. GWS 13-9: Have been solid for a while and should make finals again. Tough to beat at Spotless and Cameron not spending 6 weeks out will help
8. Sydney 11-11: Never count the Swans out. A lot depends on if Buddy is fit to play. If he isn't then they may miss finals for the first time in forever
9. Port Adelaide 11-11: The great unknown. Could jump into the 8 or slide really low
10. Hawthorn 11-11: Will still be competitive due to Clarko's system but aging stars and Mitchell out for year will cause them to drop away...for now
11. Geelong 10-12: Slight drop off but should win every game at home (minus Swans). Aging stars and not enough depth makes it difficult for them to win enough away from Geelong
12. Kangaroos 10-12: Will be solid throughout the season but not enough star power to win games. Waite's retirement hurts because Brown becomes the only viable tall forward. Should win games in Tas and will be difficult to beat at Docklands
13. Fremantle 9-13: Will be better than last year but still unpredictable. Ultimately depends on Lyon's coaching style and if they can utilize Hogan and Lobb up forward
14. Bulldogs 9-13: Should be a bit better than last year but a few wins outside finals
15. Brisbane 9-13: 9 wins perhaps optimistic but will be a lot harder to beat at home. Beams loss hurts but Neale is a better (and younger) replacement
16. St. Kilda 6-16: Some improvement and will be aided by Hannebery's leadership however will still struggle. Could possible win up to 8 games
17. Carlton 3-19: Should be more competitive but will again struggle to win games. Could win up to 6 dependent on if they get confidence early in the season
18. Gold Coast 3-19: Unfortunately will struggle a lot but may prove more difficult at Metricon than people think
