Very nasty for byes though... especially if you have Gawn + Grundy in the rucks (I have the same problem btw). Plenty of DPP at least.
I hate the bye setup so just build team for everything else haha.

No Hawn or Grundy as yet. I'll grab Grundy ones he drops 50 or so K if he does.
Can't see him going up.

Just did the same thing.

Bought in Heppell. But not a lock just yet.
Zerrett here and I can put the spare cash into either more expensive rookies, or fiddling around to upgrade a rookie to Cousins or Witherden to Whitfield

Zerrett has been in and out of my team at about M4-5, he was a lock for months then rolled his ankle and got second thoughts on him, but he's played JLT and working his way into it slowly, should be enough for me. Just wondering if I back in Sloane too though, Sloane is basically Zorkoesque in his scoring patterns whenever he's pumped out those 105 seasons, goes big or stinks it up with a tag, but priced at just under 90 he could be this years must have value premium, like Cogs last year and Beams a few times previously.

Think I'm pretty set on Macrae Cogs Brayshaw though, don't think Macrae will go as big as last year, but he'll be a top 8 mid still I'd expect still and with other preferred options in Kelly and Adams being injured/unknown I'm just going to have to pay up there

Did enjoy these Tim Kelly/Dahlhaus comments though :p really doubt they outscore Danger/Menegola at seasons end

Would be funny if all of Danger, Dahl, Kelly, Menegola, Hawkins and Parfitt became top 10-15 options though, a whole Geelong forwardline wouldn't be the worst pick going around (aside from their bye)

Good that I'm narrowing my options down with premiums/midpricers

To start with it'll be some combination of

DEF: Laird, Lloyd, Whitfield, Witherden, Roberton, Smith

MID: Macrae, Cogs, Brayshaw, Ross, Yeo, Zerrett, Shiels, Sloane, Taranto, Sheed, Cousins

RUC: Grundy, Gawn, Goldy, Witts, Westhoff, Lycett, Pierce

FWD: Danger, Menegola, Heeney, Dunkley, Boak, Mundy, Adelaide Lynch, Greene

Think I'm scratching Josh Kelly out

Giants not really letting on what's up with him
Seems similar to last year when I held him and they didn't initially let on much about his hip that he missed a chunk with.

He has been rotating with me having a combo of 3 of Crouch, Brayshaw, Merrett and Kelly. Had all 4 at one point (after losing Adams) but I've now come around to trying to fit in Macrae so was having to lose 1. Kelly is the clear option now with him being an upgrade target.

Merrett im still a bit on the fence with but think I will keep him. Could go down to Taranto though but not sure i'll bite that bullet in RDT.

Mcrouch bcrouch Sloane Laird Smith sauce all could potentially be in starting teams together....

this is what im able to come up with.
clarke in ruck becomes jacobs if hes not playing or someone around that price.
atm i have $488k in the bank Screen Shot 2019-03-08 at 8.10.25 pm.png

As a Crow supporter Im starting to see my bias come in and want to pick BCrouch alongside mAtt. Probably shouldn't but we play this game for fun yeah and watching those boys go to work together would be a great ride if it came off.

(Sloane looks in great knick too)

I have both crouches and it feels right.

I just have trust issues with BCrouch (yet I have Billings 😂😂) & still think he is unfairly expensive in RDT. So far I have the below. I’m getting tired of this R2 thing so certainly for now it’s Goldy, which changes the structure of your team. Cousins is easily interchangeable & depending on what Worpel does (or doesn’t do) in the second game he could switch out as well. Hawks running with a stronger midfield this weekend.

Interesting team

One of them teams that is really down to hit or miss I think

Could nail it and not worry about trades for a while, or you're looking at plugging holes very early on if a few midpricers struggle

I have both crouches and it feels right.
leaning that way.

How though is the issue and its a risk to put him in based on that.

Macrae, Brayshaw, M Crouch, Merrett, Cousins are how my mids stood

So I can either
- drop Macrae to B Crouch, use that extra cash on another line. Until last week I was overlooking Merret but in RDT I do like to lock away "guaranteed" top handful in their line picks
- Merrett to Crouch the one most would consider. Has says not to, heart says do it. Merrett not fully convincing but based on his history he, like Crouch, is great value. Only ? is if he starts slow off limited preseason. Interesting dilemma - the injury prone guy off a great PS or the durable one off an interrupted one. Merrett seems right is Crow bias removed
- downgrade Hanley (D5) and Greene (F4) to 2 players under 470k (say Ridley 270k and what in my structure would be the 3rd best fwd rookie under 200k), then upgrading Cousins to Crouch (or I could still have cousins and lose a Jones/Hateley/Butters type for Crouch if the players bought in are under 380k total). This just feels way too weak and like im dining my structure

120k left in the bank. Come at me.

Think your team is way better suited for Supercoach rather than DT

With your value picks down back in particular, Smith has to be in at 388k, he'll score similarly to both Mills and Williams and you'll save heaps of cash going there instead, just don't think Mills and Williams will average close to top 6 average, Roberton is probably the one who could go closest to that top 6 defender average if he's back in 2017 form. Mills might average close to 90 but I'm yet to see him win tons of footy to go with the tackle + mark boost needed for a high average compared to say what Heeney has shown the last two years, think he's a 20-25 possession mid at the moment. Defence is deep this season and Laird, Lloyd and Whitfield look to be top 6 defenders already with a number of others putting their hands up so I think making sure you're in position to get the best players in your team come your team is completed is the way to go

What I'd do

Mills and Williams to Smith and Sam Collins then use that spare cash to upgrade Scott in midfield to another premium as I feel Libba is better suited to M5 in SC where he's a chance of being a season long M8-9 as his contested style suits that game better rather than DT where he'll only be M9 at best in a completed side (he hasn't averaged 95ish since 2014 though 2 of those 4 years since he did his knee, but signs are he's only a 80-85av mid these days).

Burgess will get a run too and he's DPP which is handy, but I guess rookies will pick themselves when round 1 teams come out.
