collins an option but dont see how 70k there gets me an upgrade to heeney anywhere?
EDIT: playing around with that did you mean Cousins as that would allow me to go Jones/Butters to Cousins

Ridley is interesting though if he's a lock to play midfield as Essendon do need big bodies in there (thought Ridley was more of a general defender last year)

i think he is more in defender mix as heard quoted the Hooker injury him being one it may increase opportunity for. has he played mid in the PS and lead to that scoring? its inclusions like him in the 2nd team that worry me though, just feels a bit deep on rookies

rory thompson ACL really strengthens collins selection now.
The good thing about GC rookies is that their early draw is ok so gives better chance for early scoring. Only thing giving some comfort in having to go a Burgess type

He's definitely a lock now if people had doubts on his job security

Only thing is now will he play lockdown? If he plays lockdown he might only average 50ish, bit of freedom to roam then he'd be capable of 60-70.

So with this Thompson news, I'm not sure I can trust Collins onfield anymore if he plays lockdown

He will be a slow burn, but D7 to start I think would be ok

If Duursma is a lock then he could fill the void somewhere too

I think the Geelong rookies JS are all strong, just I'm not sure

Gawn could go down to Goldy or Westhoff then I pump more cash into midfield rookies, feel Hayes will score well and he's a mature ager having spent 5 years or so in the VFL for us, but just job security is the thing? He probably is somewhere between the 19th-26th player for us currently. Rather Hayes for cash generation over both Gibbons and Atkins who will likely play as small forwards, but if Hayes doesn't get picked round one then I'll go the slow burn boys and another expensive rookie. Midfield is a bit light in this formation, but the cash generation will be made there in that position too so making sure I'm strong elsewhere will hold me up.

Burgess seems a lock, just where? Forward or back? I guess if there's concerns on Balta's and Drew's JS then Burgess goes forward.

Feel not starting with Whitfield could be problematic considering he could easily pump out a 105-110 year, basically shuffled Zerrett out again for a rookie then moved in Whitfield down back for a rookie like Duursma.

Toby Greene vs Adelaide Lynch for F4, Adelaide Lynch will hit the ground running better but Toby fits the budget better, think if I go Lynch then I'm starting with Goldy in the ruck (Goldy apparently better for bye planning though) this is probably the main decision to make

Last season I picked rockliff up the week they played hawks in tassie. He was coming off two huge games...classic my luck, he plays the entire first half running up and down ground with no opponent...yet somehow managed to have 3 disposals...in the second half, Hinkley decides to use him as a tagger for the first time in his career... I lost my main cash league game by 4 points.... Rockliff- NEVER AGAIN

Westhoff tonning up with Lycett and Ryder both in the team is a good thing though, perhaps he will still float around again and rack them up.

Good performances from rookies from that game, all of Butters, Duursma, Drew and Scott, shows they can score.

Why does it seem kids have to go through a rigorous apprenticeship in the VFL to get games at North, yet regular top 8 sides like Geelong and Sydney can regularly pump kids through straight up and it doesn't alter their performance much at all?

Just can't recall having a decent starting rookie at North in years, Ahern was a good downgrade option last year but he was still only a downgrade. Gibson was quality back in his first year too, but again he was only just a mid season downgrade option.

A few of us went Mountford and Hibberd two years ago after they were handed round 1 debuts, got badly burnt there after they were dropped straight away then didn't come back for 10-11 weeks

Scored pretty solidly whenever Nicnat was fit

Don't think Ryder will be out for long though
