yeah but every player that tries to win, will either be traded or benched. the FO wants to lose and get that pick 1.
Players always have too much pride to lose every game, and when the team has completed the rebuild the FO want almost every player will be elsewhere or retired.

I feel for every team when the FO wants to tank, because the players are powerless to change it. if they play too good they get traded or moved to a position they wont play as good at.

If you play hard in a team that's tanking it will get noticed, and you'll get rewarded. Plenty still to play for for the players currently on the roster.

They’ll explain it by saying they were trying to pressure the QB, get a loss, ensure no field goal etc.

But it’s tanking plain and simple. The only other explanation would be staggeringly inept coaching, which I suppose is in play but I strongly doubt it.
