Treloar/Cripps & Ridley/Collins vs Macrae & Scrimshaw/
Iv got this same issue. Currently have Macrae + Scrimshaw but will need to downgrade Macrae if Scrimshaw isnt named to free up enough cash for an upgrade to Ridley.

Would it still be brave to not pick him after Touhy comes back?

If you rack your brain over what might happen to our rookie selections in 2-3 weeks then there's no rookies left to choose except Walsh/Setterfield.

Clarke is the next closest they come to a lock rookie selection for round1. Worry about what to do with him if/when he's dropped.

Glad I already have him coz it will suck to try to fit him in now.

100% right, you can't predict what these coaches are going to do.

This is one structure that I'm looking at right now, due to me not rating the defensive or forward rookies.

Def: 3-3-0 (Lloyd, Crisp, Shaw, Savage, B.Smith, Z.Williams) - might not have to touch this line for a while. Hore and Joyce on the bench.
Mid: 2-2-4 (Macrae, Cogs, B.Crouch, Libba, Setterfield, Constable, Atkins, Drew) - Gibbons and Hind on the bench. I feel most confident about the mid rooks.
Ruck: 2-0 (Goldy, Gawn) - Archie and Fort on the bench.
Fwd: 3-2-1 (Danger, Boak, Kelly, Newnes, McCarthy, Balta) - Parker and Petruccelle on the bench. McCarthy could make a quick buck and would be an early upgrade.

The only thing I don't understand is, why you have Setterfield in your mids if you don't rate the forward rookies?

And then you have Drew as a mid?

Actually there are 3 things I don't understand. If you are going to spend the money, why do you then think that McCarthy is going to outscore say Walsh for example....

I'll come in again and go sit on the comfy chair.....

Struggling with the mids and rucks ATM
1. Westhoff + Sloane (M3)
2. Grundy + Worpel (M3)
3. Jacobs + Zerrett (M3)

What do you think? I see 1 keeper in each option and some risk in each too

2. I reckon and consider Andy Brayshaw instead of Worpel if you are concerned with JS. Our Brayshaw will play 22 games if fit and he spends the vast majority of his time in the mids. Pretty much same price.

7 keepers, 15 upgrades required

Thats a lot
It is a lot of upgrading to do, but I've got to have something to vent about...

I'm not starting any of the big 3 backs as i think they'll all start with a splutter.
Laird - in Brown's lockdown role until about r8, Lloyd - someone pointed out a tough start for him and illness in JLT2, Whitfield - playing new role wait and see...

After the Traders talked about team structure, interested to see what everyone else's team structures are:

Rookies- $0-$270K
Mid Pricers $270K-600K
Premiums- $600K +

My on ground team structure is:

Def: 1,2,3.
Mid: 4,2,2.
Ruck: 2 (Goldy, Gawn)
Fwd: 3,1,2.
DEF: 1, 2, 3
MID: 4, 1, 3
Ruck: 2, 0, 0
FWD: 4, 0, 2

Should be 11 Keepers and Crouch, Smith and Williams can all play till finals.

Should only need to manage eight on field positions all year. Looking for a full side by Round 12

Exact same thought process as me. No point paying up for those 3, when you could have pretty much any other mid instead (bar Macrae). Like, who is gonna score more, Laird and Bailey Scott or Brayshaw and Scrimshaw (for an extra 10K)? Lloyd, Yeo, Laird, Whit etc. all had huge upside last year, when they were all priced at around 700K or below. This year it's not the same

Isn't taking Tuohy's spot. More likely, it makes us go smaller in the backline and Henry plays as a swingman off the bench. With how I see it, Clark and Atkins add something to the side that we sorely need, so they'll be kept in regardless of who comes back. Henderson, O'Connor and Kolo (will be two of those three) will be pushed out when Tuohy and Bews return
