It's ridiculous that they adjust up the prices of "proven performers" when they have an injured season but don't adjust down the prices for rookies who only play a few games in their first season.
How about how Garlett was priced at 300k or so because of his GC games two years ago despite the fact he'd been playing bloody WAFL last year and was picked up in the 2nd round of the Rookie Draft

I may be completely wrong with my formula, however it seems to make sense with the end price. A $171k price increase for a rookie that only played 2 games just didnt make sense.
Wouldn't be surprised, Harry Morrison played 1 game last year and started this year at just under 400k!

Does AFL fantasy run a end of year survey?

One thing I'd love them to implement would be a Trade Simulator option.

The platform already guesstimate players scores and their price increases so it should be simple to go to a trade simulator section and have a play around with trades in advance.

I.e if I trade x to y this week. I can trade a to b next week if both hit their breakevens.. then in Round ? my team will look like this...

Would be handy and I would spend hours trading to see what my team could look like at finals etc
There was an email a week or so ago for feedback if you can still access it.

I know him through friends (graduated the same year as him) and the kid is the real deal from what I've heard. Future gun.

Been watching him in u18's. Looks the real deal definitely.

I got burned by Billings and to a lesser extent Merrett, but my strategy is to favour younger players, other things being equal.
Not second year players, but players in their 3rd-4th full season. Often these are the breakout years but even if not they are likely to improve their average at least a few points per game.

Yep if you didn’t start with Zerrett he was an absolute bargain after a few rounds thanks to the concussion affected scores.

So my list above might be a good starting point for next year break out players.

Next season will be looking at -

Libba, Hanneberry if he shows absolutely anything in the pre-season, Lids if he has an injury free run til the end of the year, Doch, because well duh, Constable (will be a decent player next year), Setterfield, Freeman, Dusty, Viney, Zaharakis, De Goey, Hanley, Lycett, English, Daw, Ahern, C. Curnow, McLuggage and Greene

Team might look like:

B: Doch, Laird, Lloyd
Hanley, 170K, 170K

M: Titch, Macrae, Zaharakis, Dusty, Viney, Hanneberry, Freeman, Constable

R: Lycett, Grundy

F: Lids, Greene, C. Curnow
McLuggage, De Goey, Setterfield

Nice! Think you might be overspending in the forward line though, and I'd have Dunkley in for Lids.

Getting me excited for next season already given that my year's pretty much a write-off at the moment!

Haha it's very possible that I am, but something close to that is what I'm hoping for. I've actually done pretty well with a rank of 750th and 1st in all my leagues bar one, but given the carnage of this season, I'm just looking forward to (hopefully) a more settled season next year. Fat chance of that though haha

He won't be cheap (current season average 95 and creeping up each week), but in Jack Redden's 3 best years at the Lions he went @ 109, 105, and 103 over 22 games each year.

His first 5 rounds were poor, highest fantasy score of 78 and no more than 19 possessions. Since then he's been playing much more in the guts, and has averaged 107 from Round 6 onwards.

I think next year I'm going to be keen on Duggan. Will 100% be defence eligible (cuz he plays there this year). But next year if we ditch a mid, he probably has a slot come his way if he has a strong preseason.

I think Cole will play midfield before Dug
Has he cemented his spot in our best 22?
I hope you're trolling

If Titch keeps this form up and with the magic number going up he'll certainly be over $1m starting price!!!
Starting with him (or not) will be the biggest question next year.
Currently with players like MaCrae, Zerrett, Crouch bros, Fyfe and Dusty all being under priced for what they could do next year, I'll be leaning towards not having him.

Other players I'll be keeping an eye on,.
Backs: Birchall, Broadbent, Zac William's
Mids: Wallis and GHS(if they move), Scully, Balic, Bonar
Fwd's: Acres, Langdon,

Good point, though where might he be if started with him? Got him at an expensive price I believe.
bit of luck with injuries and getting the right cash cows will make the difference......I reckon he has a good spreadsheet to help manage the byes, shot up the rankings the last 2 years over those 3 rounds

No idea. He'd probably be first if he kept Redden over Sidebottom. I can't be bothered doing the maths but is Titch worth paying up for? He's what 200k more than most other premo mids and only averages like 20 more.

How do you mean?

All starting prices are based on average from previous year.
This year that included Dusty, Adams, Dangerfield etc, all of whom scored far far less per dollar than Titch.

Current prices are based on average and form. He is currently 170k more than Gaff for 20.3 PPG more. He is 224k more than Macrae for only 13 points.

So yes at the moment he may not be worth getting, but for start it depends if you think he will score at his price, or less or more. He will be priced at his 2018 average of 130+ , so will he score that next year? Who knows.

More interesting is if you would consider downgrading him in round 23!

Yeah, shouldn't have asked that question but what I meant was you're paying an extra 200k at the start of the season when that could be the difference between say 6 premo mids rather than 5.

The only thing with Titch is he makes the captain conundrum less of a headache.

He may average 20pts more than your next best mid, and that value is even greater when you factor in his captaincy.
