Yeah, shouldn't have asked that question but what I meant was you're paying an extra 200k at the start of the season when that could be the difference between say 6 premo mids rather than 5.

The only thing with Titch is he makes the captain conundrum less of a headache.

Captaincy is a big relief, provided we don't try to get too smart about it haha.

Will be interesting to see the outcome, but basically do you think Titch will average 15-20ppg more than most other midfielders? Probably not, but which midfielders will be #2, #3 etc.. This year you could have picked Danger, Dusty, Kelly and you would've had a very rough time with scoring and injuries.

The only thing that could stop Titch averaging 130+ next year is injury.

Do next year's positions get based off of pre season data or how the previous season ended?

Any which way, a smokey for a top 6 forward next year could be Gary Ablett at some point. Well I hope so anyway.

Regardless of how good Gaff may be or become fantasy-wise I don’t think I would ever be able to pick him.
I agree. I find it difficult to select players I have no respect for, I’d rather lose than have them in my team.

Ryder surely has to be on the never again list for just about everyone... when was the last time he played a full season?

Ever?
Exactly what I was going to post, or more along the lines of questioning the interest in him. I just don't see it so he won't be in my side.
His injuries and frailty are typical of a big man wearing down due to the rigours of the game.

Should be a bumper draft, look for your cash cows there.

Honestly think it may be worth just getting the big two.

We all favour at least one line generally, even a little, so why not the ruck line? I'll take consistent tonnes and (hopefully) 0 trades involving onfield rucks.

This is assuming ofcourse, you pick the big two...I think we're pretty safe with Grundy and Gawn but I for one welcome a challenger!

Abbot/geel as a stepping stone.
Averaging over 100 ;)
(Possibly be over priced for a few gamer like Fiorini was after two games unless they fixed that random anomaly)

I'll be starting wiht Grundy, that is for sure. Can't tell if i'll be starting with Gawn though. It will depend on who looks likely next season. If i can start with someone like Preuss as R2 if he gets traded i'll entertain it. Kreuzer will be underpriced as well. I would rather start with the guaranteed two if I could but i'm unsure of Gawn's ability to back it up next season. He's played a monster year.

Jack Steele is having a huge finish to the year. Averaging 115 in his last 3 - firmly on my watch list for pre-season.

Here's a list of this years top points scorers per position.....

DEF
Yeo
Whitfield
Lloyd
Laird
Simpson
Brayshaw

MIDS

Mitchell
Oliver
Cripps
Gibbs
Cog
Heppel
Sidebum
Jelwood

FWD

Smith
Dangerfield
Westhoff
Menegola
McLean
Dunkley

RUC

Grundy
Gawn

All pretty obvious I spose, add in Macrae and Jelly (Gaff + Trelol) cos they have the higher averages.

The total team value if you swap out say, Gibbs and Jelwood for Macrae and Jelly and assuming a $300k/bench player average is $18,071,000.00.

Most of the top teams values are around this mark, as opposed to my Paultry $16.7M, obviously this has affected my ranking, currently 7.1k and being my 1st year I'm pretty happy with that.

I know that next year I'll be aiming to maximise my cash Gen through rookies and hopefully some astute buys. Be a little more patient with injuries and rage trades and see if I can improve.

Are there going to be 6 good defensive options left? Yeo and Brayshaw surely bound to lose defensive status and there's slim pickings after that.

Not too dissimilar to the forward line really. Menegola, McLean, Dunkley and Dangerfield all touch and go.
Docherty, Witherden, Whitfield, Laird Lloyd will all be there. Start probably 3 or 4 out of those 5 - Docherty will be discounted and Witherden below what he should be due to his recent injury knocking his average down.

From there, you start three-two rookies and see how the Top 6 develops over time.

Far less confident about the Forward Line. You can never pick quality forwards. Devon Smith was a life saver this season. I went Charlie Curnow to start this year but I feel I may have gone a year early. Will be looking at home again closely next season.

I've also got one other forward line smokey i'll be thinking about but will depend if they retain dpp status or not.
