To put it bluntly, it’s because the evidence already shows he’s a crap coach and we are basing this “surround a coach with better assistants” theory on Hardwick and Buckley who had at least taken their teams to finals and are from rich clubs.I don't see how anyone can call the decision to keep Richo on and bring in some experienced, respected people to provided him with more support a terrible decision considering we haven't got any evidence to judge the decision on.
We may start next season with the same problematic game plan and a bunch of players clearly not playing near the level they should be. In that scenario, clearly the decision to keep Richo in charge would be wrong and the support brought in isnt doing anything. But we could also see a game plan which doesnt leave the forwards with a 3 on 1, players hitting targets and sticking tackles. It's best to wait for something to judge before sticking the boots into people.
Another year with a crap coach with good assistants is still a waste, just maybe not as painful a waste as 2018 with a crap coach and crap assistants. We should’ve just lanced the boil like the dogs did with McCartney.
