He’s just a placeholder for now, but by all accounts he is training strongly up till now and if he gets through pre season and lines up round 1, he’s going to be mighty tempting at 160k

Yeah, you're right. If he stays off the piss, he will be fine. Has far too much upside for Freo to leave out.

:thumbsu: I've been doing that at the end of each team revision .....I don't trust SC ...just as likely to tell me after 14 days the trial is finished & try and force me to take a Herald Sun subscription to get Gold Super Stats

Hoping to get the Android Kayo (not yet available) after Xmas ...and get Gold Super Stats with that subscription (prays)

first team of the year.
laird whitfield williams roberton birchall quaynor. mckay wigg
titch danger cripps oliver hall hanners libba bennell. constable wagner west
westhoff goldy. schlong
heeney gray dunkley setterfield stengle wilkinson. mcadam corbett

11 keepers in bold

6 midprices/fallen premos in italics
I will be starting danger in the mids and westhoff in the ruck as i like the idea of starting 5 premo forwards also I think we shall have plenty of forward rookies this year.
most of the rookie priced place holders i have selected are mature age. More exposed form. once JLT starts i will be chopping and changing a bit.
good luck for the year peeps!

Why pick Danger as a mid?

Why pick Danger as a mid?
mainly because there are better prospects for rookie priced scorers in the forwards
every forward rookie i have picked is mature age.
0 exposed form for most 18 year olds at this stage.
bennell the only mid mature ager im interested in so far.
i think danger heeney dunkley gray westhoff are locks and i cant choose between them.
this way i dont have to.
1 rookie onfield in defence
0 midfield
0 ruck
3 forward.
not selecting the uber rucks has helped me bat very deep.

BF rookie place holder template

View attachment 595815
Your starting team will not have 5 players at 102k. This is a bad template. I always pick 123k players as place holders, plus 1 x 180k in the MID. That way, when proper rookies come, you normally end up putting extra money in to your kitty and structure remains unchanged.

Ruck 2 is a nightmare to select and i had Gawn in there but it takes to much cash from other lines to start with both, and Gawn will be dropping in price i reckon and he is upgrade target No.1.

Rucks are always so difficult to pick and if you don't nail the no 1 and no 2 rucks for the season from the start you're almost always playing catch up to some degree. 2018 I had the 2nd and 3rd highest scoring rucks with Gawn and Stef. Nice set and forget combo but anyone that started with Grundy over Stef made 545 points more over the season. Huge difference. You can always aim to bring them in with an upgrade but you can miss out on so many points even if you spent the saved cash wisely. Can guarantee my rucks will be switching constantly right up until round one lockout.
If I had a dollar for everytime someone said a proven #1/#2 positioned player was too expensive.... You get what you pay for....

Number 1 upgrade target is nuts Chism. What are you going to do? Wait 8 rounds, save yourself 50k and miss out on 240 points (ignoring Captain opportunities)?

pulpdriver is right, Rucks are normally so difficult to pick. Now they're not. Grundy and Gawn are so incredibly far ahead of every other ruck, it's not even worth scrolling any further.

R1 Grundy
R2 Gawn

Work from there.

Doedee will be a great POD if he scores well :thumbsu:
LOL. Most players will be a great POD if they score well :)

I liked what I saw last year. It's him or Zac Williams. I will ponder that a lot over the next few months no doubt.

Guys Crows Stengle hasn't rocked up to PS Training in great nick ......yes it's early days, but not a good sign at a new club .....think carefully about him, pretty bullish though with McAdam

Zac Williams has had 1 breakout season of 97 .....otherwise it's been mid 80 seasons .....on a par with Birchell, but he's $200K cheaper .....just hope Birchell comes up for R1

Yes haha but some PODs scoring well are more crucial than others based on their ownership. A lot more sides will pick a Zac Williams over a Doedee, so if Doedee scores well it could make a huge difference for weekly ranking + league head-to-head results.
