Draft Review 2019 - Revisit the 2019 AFL Draft

Good to see a couple of tall key position players getting some games and over injury.

Jones and Comben - taken a pick apart look like long term prospects.

We have been terrible but Comben one of the few shining lights - only behind Andrew’s and Taylor for intercept marks.

It's gotten to a point where I expect to see Comben in the Roos' lineup.

FWIW, I'm comfortable in the Roos picking Comben before Mahony and Perez.

Mahony has the games tally thus far but Comben has the poise.

Roos are desperate for a decent KPP to come from their young stocks so hopefully Comben could be the one

My best 22 of this draft so far:

Connor Budarick - Sam De Koning - Dylan Williams
Miles Bergman - Hayden Young - Trent Rivers
Will Day - Tom Green - Dylan Stephens
Caleb Serong - Harrison Jones - Kysaiah Pickett
Cody Weightman - Mitch Georgiades - Jake Riccardi
Luke Jackson - Matt Rowell - Noah Anderson
Chad Warner - Lachie Ash - Finn Maginness - Keidean Coleman

Apart from only having one standout key defender (although there's time for McAsey if he gets over his issues and Worrell) that's a stacked midfield.
Updating this (With Young now being a midfielder too):

Trent Rivers - Sam De Koning - Dylan Williams
Miles Bergman - Charlie Comben - Keidean Coleman
Will Day - Tom Green - Liam Henry
Cody Weightman - Harrison Jones - Kysaiah Pickett
Bradley Close - Mitch Georgiades - Jake Riccardi
Luke Jackson - Caleb Serong - Noah Anderson
Chad Warner - Lachie Ash - Hayden Young - Matt Rowell

Day, Bergman, Ash and Young are basically a four player wing/half back rotation. If I were doing a second 22:

Connor Budarick - Callum Jamieson - Jackson Mead
Brodie Kemp - Josh Worrell - Jaxon Prior
Jeremy Sharp - Finn Maginness - Dylan Stephens
Riley Garcia - Lachlan Gollant - Malcolm Rosas
Noah Cumberkand - Emerson Jeka - Michael Frederick
Nick Bryan - Deven Robertson - Sam Flanders
Harry Schoenberg - Jy Farrar - Ryan Byrnes - Thomson Dow

Seriously, the midfield depth in this draft is bullshit. Flanders and Maginness are very very good players and they're not in the top 7 mods of this draft (IMO, anyway).

Team 1 to be coached by Rhyce Shaw and team 2: David Teague.

Garcia's really starting to play some great footy. He's a little bull.

If you’re judging it on the last ten weeks only (while Henry has been injured for a long period), sure. If you’re judging it on their careers to date, Henry for sure. Though neither has exactly shot the lights out.

If you’re projecting forward to the rest of their careers, stab in the dark.

Being a swan you would of seen sharp a few weeks ago
That night sharp kicked 50% of the freo goals(2) had 28d 9 score inv 3intercepts 2 clearances and
540 metres gained.
Henry has never had a game like that.
Sharp ave nearly 20d 1 goal and 500mt gained this year.
If he was a high draft pick playing in vic there would be more fanfare.

Underrating Ash … but as a giants fan I won’t say anything ;)

Very happy to have ended up with Serong, Young, Jackson, Sharp & Frederick all at our club. Nearly 1/4 of our team from one draft.

Flanders belongs in the star category at this point. Ultra consistent, high disposal winner, great ball user and is super versatile as a player, has played mid, fwd and back this season.

Coleman is a star, but Day is not? Hard disagree on that.

Flanders is a star too.
