Nathan Brown SGM . I am 0/4 following his tips.

AFL Round 8 Nathan Brown SGM and the reasons according to him.

Head to Head: Western Bulldogs (they have bigger bodies)
Total Points: Under 116.5 pts (wet conditions)
Anytime Goalscorer: Izak Rankine

Total Odds: $6.25

There you go, I placed a bet on that, now I have jinxed the bet. Sorry Rankine backers I didn't want to do this to you guys.

Surely you're better off backing him 2+ and 3+ if you like him to kick a few?

$8 for 2+. If he kicks 2 at best you're hoping for a split dividend in the most goals market, which would lead to similar odds

$41 for 3+. Better collect than the most goals option and no risk of losing out if other players kick 3 or more
Tailed Ainsworth for 2+ and 3+ as mentioned above. Also taken a nibble at 4+ @ 101. He has kicked 2 goals, in 2 of the 7 matches this season. The odds are overs and worth a play.

I also won on Lachie Weller last week, and have gone for him for goals as well 2+ @ $8, 3+ @ 34, 4+ @ 101. Weller too has kicked 2 goals in 7 matches so far.

Taken a bit of a giggle on Weller 2+, Ainsworth 2+ at odds of $98.00

i actually dont mind swallow for most touches. paying 19 @ bet easy, about 9-10 elsewhere and his game really suits wet weather footy. dont think i have the nads to do it though, up against macrae, smith and the likes.

Why are the Dogs favourite tonight?

Looking at the teams on paper, I fail to see how the Suns don't take care of the Dogs. Possibly by a big margin.

The teams are similar in terms of experience (each about 1700 games total) and it is at the Suns' home ground, home conditions.

I know some disagree but the AFL is semi-rigged and free kick bulldogs is a thing... until it isn't (e.g. Carlton a couple weeks ago).

Especially with the AFL PR surrounding the Suns this week*, I see the umps leaving the Dogs for dead tonight.

If that happens, watch the Dogs fall apart.

*Rowell calls Gil on the phone to buy a membership, 'record membership total' etc. Check the AFL site to see what I'm talking about.

The Suns beat the Dogs last year, too.

I don't have stats to support it but it seems logical to me that the Suns would do better in slippery conditions than the Dogs.

The Suns train and play in SEQ where it is slippery all time as soon as the sun goes down, whereas the Dogs play under a roof.

What am I missing?

Not trying to troll your bet here but I would be careful with English 15+, forecast is rain so I’d say he loses 3-4 pack marks as he won’t be able to hold onto them with a wet ball. Could still get 15 but I’d be looking at a player like Weller, Daniel, Lipinski who is more suited to finding the footy in wet weather. I could be very wrong though!!

The teams Gold Coast has beaten are - Sydney, Adelaide, West Coast - 2 bottom 3 sides and a team that looked bottom 3 when they played.

Yes but could mean more contests - more chances for him to rove.

I think your train of thought is more relevant to fantasy. Harder to mark - harder for rucks like English to get a +6 (kick & mark)
