Thanks for that Giantroo......further to that,.....does that mean they go down a pick or two....apologies I've taken no notice of the points system....
Yes.

Each pick has a points value. Pick 1 (3000), etc . For Pick 1 you must have the full allocation of points (3000) to keep the pick even though you may have enough to cover pick 2 (2,517).

From there, you just minus the point deficit (265) and you get the table I've posted.

At least last nights loss might stop Gerard Healy and Gary Lyon from salivating over the Dees for a few days. It has been pathetic all week. I thought they must have been on top of the ladder but they were about 12th or 13th.
The “new Dusty” was pretty average too. Nice goal though. Daisy barracked hard for them all night too

Hopefully that is the dagger to heart. If we can get pick 6 or higher out of this we have made out like absolute bandits with this trade. 6-10 we have done really well.

Mark this down. We'll lose to Adelaide and then knock them off the following week. It is that type of season.

Only if adelaid had beaten essendon and if we lose to adelaid, then we draw level in the no. wins, beat melbourne for draft and strategically play youth so not too many wins from there on, future looks really bright. This is the first time in a long time that the future looks very positive where in the bad old days, every year was a bit of a meh in that we lose a few we should have won and win a few late ones to make ourselves look respectable and in the end amounts to nothing. This year, the onfield future looks the brighest for a long time and since the virus outbreak is hitting everyone else, the financial problems are not that glaring.

Their holy trinity of Oliver, Gawn and Petracca will be the dynamic duo with Oliver most likely getting weeks for his elbow incident

Surely he won't get anything other than a fine for that.

Melbourne were very ordinary last night, following a pretty good effort against Brisbane. Sort of like us at the moment, only if it clicks for us, we have a forward line that can kick winning scores. They are very thin up forward.

Our coach is also way better, but that's not saying much.

Gerard farkwit Hearly said early in the first quarter that melbourne's potential was unlimited (or words to that effect). It went all down hill for them after that. Hahahaha

****en hell, they're living off one "up" year in the last 20. They ran 6th, won 2 finals and got flipping trousered by WC in a Prelim. Then resumed normal service.

Good result so far tonight. Hopefully the Hawks hang on.

Pushes Melbourne back into the bottom 5

It does, but it's not a true reflection of the ladder as.they have a game in hand.

the game in hand is against Essendon.

who they would very likely go in underdogs against

The bombers are Sh*te.
They’ve beaten bottom sides, Adelaide by 3, Freo and Sydney by 6 and your mob by 14. The highest ranked team they’ve played is the 8th bulldogs who belted them by 42.

I think both Dees and kanga supporters can agree it’ll be fun to watch their 2nd half of the year crumble before their eyes.

Agreed. As long as they rally for one victory.

Melbourne's forward line is absolutely horrid. They've kicked over 60 points twice this year - once against Gold Coast and the other time against Hawthorn.

Not to mention their midfield is full of very similar inside-type midfielders. Average skill-by-foot midfielders + horrendous forward line = beat up on average teams and struggle scoring against well-drilled teams.
Sounds eerily familiar
