The 3.30 game is Vic v Vic on 7, they have the bloody Children's hospital telethon to promote and then non vic v non vic straight after on Fox Footy. Stock standard Vic programing.

Probably easier to do it this way to give us ANZAC Rd and May 24th - 150th anniversary game, than if we started with Rd 1 at home

ANZAC rd is Rd 6 and Saturday 25th so we should get Saturday night as Col v Ess will be twilight this year
150th game is Rd 10 Sunday 24th May.

Its been that way since 1994 that they are stand alone games, so there is probably 6 Saturday examples over that time.

Yeah round 1 is the worst possible time to get gold coast.

They will be a fair bit stronger next year as well. They still won't be great, but they won't be push overs for the 1st half of the year at least.

Would much rather have them in round 15 then round 1.
