Don’t want to be picky, but I didn’t read it as Berry as number one on the list, but rather just the first player he mentioned.

It wasn’t one of those countdown lists, where typically they start at 14 and count down to 1.

It’s clear that the three players he rates highest are McCluggage, Taranto and Worpel.

IIRC he was in contention for the number 1 pick early on before dropping away.

I'm pretty sure he was highly regarded at the end of his underage year. Was certainly named as one of the top contenders going into his draft year. I remember quite a few on here were pretty keen on him at that point. Slowly slipped out of contention as the next season progresses and we started to get excited about LDU, Dow and Rayner. I can't recall if anyone was burning a candle for him with our later picks, although there certainly was a bit of talk that we reached a bit for Bailey and Starc.

But he seemed to have slipped by the end of the National Academy’s preseason USA tour. I know both Balmer and Twomey didn’t have in their top 20 at the beginning of the year.

Most of the talk then was on LDU and Fogarty as they dominated for the Aus U18 team against VFL competition.

But Balmer was also quietly talking up Cerra by then as well, as he was coming back from shoulder surgery.

At the end of the TAC cup season Twomey and Worpel’s TAC coach had an interesting discussion on Twitter about Twomey not having Worpel in his top 25. Twomey basically said the recruiters he had talked to didn’t rate Worpel as a first or second round pick.

By the time of the draft I was talking either Worpel or Oscar Allen for our third pick, and when we selected Starcevich dropped the “crazy balls” line on the draft thread.

I haven't looked, but surely training times are put on our website for people to see, so that they can go to watch the boys.

I just assumed those bits of information would automatically be there for the supporters.....disappointing if it's not.

The training schedule must be known so people know when to come back and where they will be etc..
