Yeah, they probably will before the season gets underway. I do like Simpkin and Ainsworth though, reckon both of them are undervalued going into it.F4-6 can probably go down to better value/rookies to give you an extra mid premo.
It looks much like my team. I reckon you need to put one of your forwards in the middle to get C Jones. And obviously get Maj in.My first draft is midprice madness.

Looks Beastly until you get to R1... No Grundy is the biggest of calls!...G/LHappiest I've been with my side so far. Have to avoid toying with this one too much, only changes I can see myself making are with my rookies and forward line.
Townsend was meant to be where McAdam is, must not have saved properly when I was organising my players into price order.

Happy with where I’m at leading into the second MCS. 0k in the bank but I’m hoping some cheap mid rookies pop up which would give me some more flexibility.

Love the Adams and McCluggage picks mate, I’m taking one of them but can’t decide yetI'm pretty happy with this team currently. I did want a stronger backline but have chosen to select Whitfield instead of another gun back. Naismith is probably the biggest risk/weak spot in my side but i have Ceglar in the forwardline for coverage & for trading purposes if Naismith cant average 75+ like im hoping. Blakely has been a tease in the past but i think with a midfield move he should be ok as that 3rd back. My midfield is strong but also a bit different with Adams and McCluggage as PODs. Ive spent up on rookies in both my midfield and backline to give me options when the round 1 teams drop. Opinions?

Cheers. Both seem to offer some value. McCluggage is a young gun and i think Adams would be quite popular if he wasnt so injury prone, he really racks them up!Love the Adams and McCluggage picks mate, I’m taking one of them but can’t decide yet
Eerily similar to my current side. I like all the value picks. Like you, am hoping that most of them come off as they technically should if all things go according to plan. Naismith at R2 is ballsy as ****I'm pretty happy with this team currently. I did want a stronger backline but have chosen to select Whitfield instead of another gun back. Definitely no denying that Grundy is a freak, but am hoping to make up those points lost in not selecting him through some of my other top tier picks who I see with slightly more upside/value. No doubt he'll be in my side at some point, but taking the risk here.Looks Beastly until you get to R1... No Grundy is the biggest of calls!...G/L
I've had that same thought, but thinking of selling grundy in r2 for those matches you outline as a potential strategy,Definitely no denying that Grundy is a freak, but am hoping to make up those points lost in not selecting him through some of my other top tier picks who I see with slightly more upside/value. I had a look at some of last year's scores and it is interesting to note that in his first 5 games of the season he faces Bulldogs (153, 168), Richmond (79, 112), Hawthorn (100), Brisbane (78), Port (99) for an average of 112 or 93 if you exclude the Bulldogs. Four of the five scores against the latter four sides also make up seven of his scores of 100 or below. A huge IF but if he struggles over those four games I could potentially pick him up at a hugely discounted price whilst Sauce will have also closed some of the gap. Will probably try look at this with some more detail when I can find some time.
Am curious to see whether teams attempt to put some work into him this year, we saw last year Port targeting Gawn and Grundy for periods of the game.
Although a safe pick in the fact that he should be a lock for R1/2 come end of the year, I also see it as somewhat of a safe pick in spreading out my cash across a few other avenues that I believe will be able to make up the point differential. If Grundy does fail it gives me a leg up on 56% of the competition.
I mean he's never scored a tonne in round 1 either... Albeit usually with some fair reasoning.I've had that same thought, but thinking of selling grundy in r2 for those matches you outline as a potential strategy,
possibly madness...but just might be a sneaky way of grabbing a bit of cash on the pullback! G/L
Pre-Marsh team
Building up slowly
Trialling a no-Grundy policy, for now at least...
D: Sicily, Houston, Clark/Milera, Docherty, Roberton, Young (<INSERT, <INSERT>)
M: Dunkley, Oliver, <INSERT>, Titchell, <INSERT>, <INSERT>, Rowell, Anderson (Pickett, <INSERT>)
R: ROB, Jacobs (<INSERT>)
F: Martin, <INSERT>, <INSERT>, <INSERT>, Jones, <INSERT> (Rankine, Max King)
Certainly has merit... I just think he might get a hold of a some what under prepped English given his set back.I mean he's never scored a tonne in round 1 either... Albeit usually with some fair reasoning.

I'd definitely entertain Lloyd - Sicily and Bonar to say Brander if you could get the cash to go from Lycett to Gawn.Thoughts on this?!? Do I downgrade Whitfield for Dusty and Lloyd for Sicily so I can get Gawn?

Huge Value in the forward line imo. Dropping that mid premo allows for me to lose the fwd rook, feel much more Safer. Something new this year I’m trying as I always get burnt by forward rooks (BALTA!!!!)Different m2-m5 but otherwise a near identical side to mine atm. My forward line started out so weak and then bit by bit I've talked myself into spending more money there and I have to say it's a lot less scary line now, good chance it's starting with 3 keepers.
Ditto the backline couldn't start with Houston D1, just need that one more safer pick so that it's not all speculative.

Definitely aware of that match up and could very well could be costly. On the flip side when I did drop Grundy it gave me the room to bring in Dunkley and Macrae who managed a combined 286 last time out vs the pies. It’s all speculative at the moment but I guess taking risks like this can make or break a season. I always enjoy trying a few things in fantasy; last season I started with Phillips which was almost a huge success imo bar the donut I copped from himSee above, as I see you're another who's going without Grundy at the moment - just a message of caution
