On the basis that picks 7 and 8 aren't gettable and we are only taking two live picks in the draft including Coleman, I would offer the Dogs 18 and 19 for 14, 41 and 54 or a future third/fourth rounder and use 41 for Cockatoo.
I don't think that's enough for us, I'd want 14, 41 & their 2nd rounder next year for our 18 & 19.

I'd still prefer 7 or 8 though.

briztoon I see Blake Coleman there

What about the other boys coming out this year any others we will take? I think McFayden Jnr this year? Abberley?
Or you think get taken elsewhere like last year.

interesting what we do with 18/19
We have a few in 70+ for Fullarton to upgrade
you assume our one in 50's for Cockotoo.
18+19 buys you ?
Is Blake going to go that high.

Yes 7 or 8 would be great, just not likely. I was thinking 41 and 54 would move up a bit too so the points difference at the end of the day would be minimal.

Fair call, but as much I don't want to seem arrogant but we're lucky enough to have a team that doesn't need to worry such marginal fluctuations in opposition teams, we already have so much youth ready to grow.

Just being objective here, has any other team actually had a five year plan that actually turned around in five years? I'm still kinda mindblown at how good we've become.
Richmond is the obvious one but as is already pointed out took much longer than five years, to me our turnaround is impressive because it isn't as easy for us to trade in players to plug gaps when things aren't going well, I remember Melbourne being at their lowest ebb but still able to trade in decent footballers back in the day (and subsequently ruin them)...we have been very fortunate with Neale, Daniher and Cameron wanting to come to us though!

With the Cats reportedly wanting more than our pick 53 for Cockatoo I wonder if we'll end up giving what we get for Witho straight to the Cats for Nakia which may end up being the Eagles pick 34 or their 2nd next season.

Yeah pick 63 for Stef. Bargain!

In all seriousness, so happy for Stef. Gets to extend his career and get back to Vic which was his plan. Did so much for the club.
Happy to help Stef to a team that is up and about as well.
You hope he plays well for them and they make finals.
Although have a off game if against us :)

Yeah we weren't using 70 and would be surprised if we even need 63.
Weird one of out 80,90's picks for Fullarton.

What we doing with 63? You assume Blake go somewhere 15-30.
We have 18,19,53 and 63 and still need to trade for Cockotoo.
WCE have 34, 60, 91 so will not be 34 as they have no picks anywhere :).
So future 2nd or 3rd?

Cockatoo is going to be interesting if Cats are asking for more. The clubs have had a pretty good relationship over the last few years even if one way. Maybe its just a sign that Brisbane are no longer a cellar dweller so you don't get a free hit. Not sure but find it a little fascinating as I would have thought it would be a trade that would sail through given past history.

Seems the Witherden deal is going a bit quite. Seems it's dependent on Hickey getting to Sydney who is also a contracted player and one the Eagles apparently want to keep. I heard a tippet on the AFL website they may only offer to honour Witho's contract as it now stands, the 2 years he has to go at the Lions. No word from Witherden himself anyone else thinking this might slide past?

Collingwood will have more trouble attracting players now. Here's a big, fat contract but if you're not up to scratch we'll try and flog you off ASAP

A few weeks back, on Footy Class, Fat Eddie was bemoaning the Cats ability to manage their salary cap effectively, implying some sort of shenanigans.

Perhaps he just need to sack his list manager and hire someone who doesn't live and die by the Buckley premiership moonshot mantra.

This will be a millstone on Collingwood for many years, not as bad as the Essendon saga but still handicapping.

It's just so disingenuous to be trying to fix the overspend whilst still chasing players like Gunston, like he would be interested in joining the disloyal omnishambles that is Collingwood.

if we cannot move 18-19 up
Do we use 19/53 and see if we can get a pick in the 20's and 30/40's
Use the higher pick for Cockotoo.
Like crows 19/53 for 22/40 or port 29/35 and future pick?
As we look to use our highest pick, Blake than Fullarton.
So as it is 19 for Blake which above seems overs.
53 unders to get Cockotoo

or 18+19 for Menegola and Cockotoo.
or 20/38 for 18/53/Cockotoo.

Surprised we got anything for Stef

Picks 53 and 63 enough for Blake Coleman?
should be 53=pick 40 with discount
...............63 = pick 47

I think our board over value our kids
I think 63 for Cockatoo. Geelong need to take this and move on to bigger fish
