Let’s stick with a basic rule for this thread, that it’s for draft watch and discussion only.

It’s not for trade hypotheticals, who you think needs to be delisted or traded, how many games you think we will win, some other team will win, how many picks you want in the 1st round or discussion of current HFC players.

It’s about youngsters who are eligible for the draft in 2021.

Key dates to look out for:
  • NAB AFL Draft Combine: TBC
  • NAB AFL Draft: Wednesday November 24 - Thursday November 25
  • NAB AFL Pre-season and Rookie Drafts: Friday November 26

You said he would be a liability on the spread but he has demonstrated he reads the play really well and gets plenty of it on the outside. I think you are discounting how good he is at football on account of perceived athletic weaknesses.
I don't think he has the body-type that is likely to adapt to the level of running required by an elite AFL midfielder - that's our framework here for using our first pick on him. The odds of him becoming a senior player are quite high, but he isn't the type I want.

Hobbs isn't my whipping boy.
I don't do that sort of thing.

Please tell me what is wrong with my observations about his attributes.
This has been answered adequately by others, he's your whipping boy, and I don't care either way whether we take him or not, I'm sure whomever we get with that pick will be awesome. But it would be fun to watch you trying to sell the "He's a liability" line for the rest of his career.

I have read a dozen posts from you about Hobbs, we get it that you do not rate him. (Can we have a spell)

However its the way you say “but he isn’t the type I want” it’s as though you have some sort of say in it.

You are not a part of our recruiting team are you?
TC&I has plenty coming after him on here. I guess that's why he feels the need to defend his position.
What naysayers need to remember it's just one person's opinion.
So many on here want to play the right or wrong game, that is one we won't know for some time.

After watching highlights and reading bios, and having never seen a player live, would love a mix of;

First round pick: Ward, Hobbs or Andrews

Second rounders:Taylor, Chesser, MacDonald, Roberts or Clarke.

Would be great to get another pick in the 20’s, would be very handy.

I’ve deleted the page of arguments about Wines( and Judd and Hodge).

Please stop talking about players who aren’t in this draft.

If you want to read it. Check lethals lounge and the thread paywalls
Don't do this. Paywalls are there for a reason, as painful as they are. Publicly advertising ways of getting around them is not something Chief would want to see here.

I won't be unhappy if we take Sinn with our first pick.

  • greatest strengths are his speed and kick penetration.
  • established leader among the Victorian crop
  • Sandringham’s co-captain
  • as damaging as anyone in the overall draft pool
  • regarded as the most damaging and technical kick in the Dragons’ program
  • given the license to look for options others simply wouldn’t.
  • His penetrative boot and line-breaking speed make him a meters gained machine
  • well-timed runs off half-back or on the wing.
  • has also moved onto the inside to good effect, utilising the size he added during last year’s lost season.

Great potential. Touted number 1 pick at the start of the year. Had injuries and interrupted season which never let him be unleashed.

If he's only played 5 games in 30 months, imagine how highly rated he is by recruiters. He's still top 15 and he's barely played at all, that say's a lot of how good club's think he can become.

If the 2 mids are gone, which is a chance, I'm calling Sinn.

If we go for Sinn, I sure hope we trade down a little to (still) get him and improve our subsequent picks

I don't see us getting to a point where we get Sinn unless we either rate him highly, which someone will find out or atleast sniff out, or we trade down for him and upgrade a 2nd.

Ward, Erasmus, Callaghan, Hobbs, Rachele all options at our first remember.

Just wondering, would any of you be annoyed / peed off / angry if we grabbed the Big Mac with pick 5? (assuming Finn, Hobbs and Ward were all off the board)

İs Sinn capable as a bona fide inside mid though!? Haven't seen much of him and what I've seen is that he seems very adaptable as a link up player more than anything. İf we get Sinn @ 5 and someone like knevitt or Roberts at 21 then that would be great. An outside type with good peg and line breaker ( Sinn) plus a ready to go inside mid ( knevitt/Roberts).

Yep he’d be my last choice out of any of the potential top 10’s. The difference between his output and potential is huge. we aren’t in the position to spend a top 5 pick on a kid who has such a high bust potential. Also see his best position as ruck but I think reeves will be a very good ruck for us
