Extremely unlikely. As a Port supporter having watched him, he’s had a very down season.

Very consistent but turns it over a lot and just doesn’t stand out compared to Wines and Amon.

Have a sneaky feeling Amon outpolls him this year. Similar to the drop off in votes JPK and the like coped when they regressed ever so slightly.

Didn’t go well in coaches and the team didn’t even nominate him for AA. Says it all.

Boak doesn't stand out but Wines does? What.

You do realise that Boak came 2nd last year, right? He's very noticeable and much like Bontempelli this year when he's played well he's usually been the best player on the field and is very clear.

I've given him maximum votes in 6 matches and 2 in another.

does this mean wines wins the Brownlow?

AFL.com.au Brownlow Predictor has Wines on 19 votes... Made me laugh when I saw it.

At least they are consistently bad at their predictions every year to let everyone know to ignore them lol
Rewatching round 5 now where most predictors have him getting 3, and AFL gives him 0.

I'm not far in, 7.5 mins left in the first quarter and Ollie has had 6 touches, done pretty much nothing with them, one was a handball straight to opposition.

Will let you know how the rest of the match pans out.

11 touches in Q1.

3 hack kicks, a couple of decent contested (backwards) handballs that didn't result in anything, a couple of sloppy handballs to nothing or opposition, a decent tackle, a needless free kick given away for holding Cripps.

Stats look pretty good but nowhere near the votes here. Houston's precision kicking, Walsh's cleanliness and accumulation clearly the standouts in Q1. Cripps beating Wines in their duel so far.

7 touches in Q2

A rushed hack kick for a behind, a hack kick out on the full, a few meaningless sideways possessions across half back. One great intercept and handball but just as many (probably more) errors as good bits of play. Definitely not in the votes at this point.

Most players on the ground have done something good followed by something bad. Walsh very few errors, not as productive that quarter but okay. Houston gone out of it.

DBJ clearly the best player on the ground in the first half. Intercepting, breaking lines and moving the game forward, clean ball use while others are just bombing or going sideways. Even Amon is screwing it up or just moving sideways. This hasn't been a great exhibition of skill but DBJ has been flawless and it's standing out.

Gray with 3 goals hard to ignore, couple of silly things but more good than bad. Georgie similar.

Wines with 18 of his 32 in that half but nothing impressive at all.

AFL predictor might be on the money here. Not sure where they plucked Aliir for 2 votes from though.

Q3. 7 touches and not one of them was what I'd call great. Set shot, Didn't make the distance from 45m out. Sloppy handballs. If he polls in this match it's a joke. He got plenty of it but barely any of it amounted to anything useful.

Boak getting involved plenty. Amon continuing on. DBJ just okay. Todd Marshall did some very nice things in the first half and prominent again in Q3. Aliir good that quarter. Walsh keeping on and probably the best player on the ground so far. Cripps ok. Georgiades ok.

Q4. 1 kick, 6 handballs

It was a good kick.

Drew, Aliir great quarters. Boak was huge in Q4 and built as the game wore on, and was far more effective than Wines. 18 second half touches. Amon pretty good all night and maybe the only 4 quarter player for Port except DBJ but his first half was clearly better.

Walsh probably the best player on the ground but his team well beaten so who knows. Docherty and Cripps decent enough all night but unlikely to poll in a 5 goal loss.

Gray just 5 touches in the second half.

3. Walsh
2. Boak
1. DBJ

Marshall and Amon next best.

PORT ADELAIDE.... O...WINES....2 VOTES

Haha love it! But can see why Pointsbet would also love it
Miller~ 2.2
Boak ~4
Walsh ~1.8
Parker ~5
Mitchell ~2.5
Parish ~1.7
Multi ~$330:1

Realistically it’s probably $10 + for Parker to get 25 votes. **** pointsbet, they restricted me as soon as I opened an account.

Very true, 95% of the time a 25+ Votes = top 5, that's 6 players and then Bont Wines Oliver Steele and Petracca which makes 11.

Haha yeah hate them; they rejected to price up my request a bet
Ward 5+
Stringer 10+
Gawn 15+
Macrae 20+
Walsh 25+
Steele 30+

Worked hard to find those 5 players I thought might overpoll their expected mark

Very interesting, Wines has always been a turnover king but weight of numbers is probably what sticks in the umps minds. I reckon when a player gets multiple possessions the umps think 'oh wow, him again' and when they dispose of it they're too busy looking if there's a free kick at the next contest

We'll probably see this in the Bulldogs Gold Coast game, Bont had more clangers than any other player in history but will probably get the 3. Only because he did 1 or 2 really nice things each quarter that makes the umps think 'geez, he's involved in everything' and influencing the game heavily (good and bad).

They also have Macrae missing the top 20 which sounds like a sportsbet wet dream given he's in like a million multis to make it.
