Some one on here mentioned Hopper, he's nicely priced at 488K, are we back in the wrong horse here over Taranto?
...or why naawwtt both.

Thoughts?
My backing is for Simpkin over Taranto & Hopper @ $499K

Not thinking keeper, but he should start the fist 6 games strongly .....we'll see his life expectancy from there

Got my eye on someone I reckon's a bit of a POD.

Has a few minuses regarding his situation, but has already (in his short career) posted a higher score than Simpkin, Taranto and dare I say it many other around that price range.

Haven't seen him in any sides yet

By score do you mean season average or individual game score?

I like guessing games

Anyone going with Cripps, Walsh and Williams? Feels disgusting having the entire blues midfield

Walsh is a lock.
Cripps too good for his price. ZWilliams predicted role change means he's underpriced.
Toss in Corey Durdin and you could have 4 Carlton players in round one.

Hard to leave them all out but ZWilliams for Doedee/Witherden might be the one change.

That was me, but it was in the context of him being GWS's preferred mid (for centre bounce attendances) and how that, along with more mid minutes for Kelly, Coniglio and probably Green, might stop Taranto from getting the extra mid time people are expecting this season. I don't consider Hopper to be a viable SC pick. As Andrew Birch points out, his TOG is really poor and players with really poor TOG will be among the most disadvantaged by the return to full time quarters this year.

I agree.

But he's not discounted like last year, and need to check his role with ZWilliams and Saad now at the club.

It's already been confirmed by the club a number of times that ZW will be a full time mid at Carlton, he'll rotate forward if anything.

Doch on one HBF and Saad on the other waxing possies like Doch and Simmo used to in 2016 & 2017.

No room for Newman then ?eee

What clubs confirm preseason and what they actually do once the season starts is often very different, but that usage of the players does seem sensible and likely. Just need to see Williams' role confirmed in the JLT and he'll be my D4.

Blues have several HBFers already, they didn't pay $900k a year for ZW to play there.

Andrew Russell is the fitness guy..he's talking about Walsh's fitness/training loads etc, yes? That is nothing new, it's common knowledge that Walsh is already one of the best endurance athletes, gut runners in the AFL.

I've yet to read anything that confirms that Walsh won't be playing on the wing this year, other than he wants spend time playing other roles going forward. Assuming he means the centre square Midfield.

Russell saying gone to another fitness level again .......did read a couple of weeks ago the club intended to play Walsh more as a pure midfielder in 2021
