That's really not true. Only 5 sub 100 scores with 4 x 101-117 scores, 4 scores in the 121-132 range and 4 x 139+ scores including a 170.
Reports of an injury are a concern, but on last year's performances he's a must have as a forward if fit.
Would still be rated as best forward 2021 if he lost the 120+ scores and they became scores in the 100-119 range.
When there's very limited guaranteed talent available you usually take the best.

I've Opted for that "loyal" Bulldog Dunkley over the slow out of the blocks Dangerfield

There'll be no holding "mad dog" Dunkley back, as he has a point to prove to the Coach ....who we know will try & and curtail his brilliance

No reason why you can't take both.
Also having Marshall, Gawndy, and trying to get to 4 x on-field Rookies makes it tough ....not impossible, just have other preferences to a declining Dangerfield

His ave now has dropped every season for the last 4 seasons ....this 5th season should see another drop to appox 108

I've just traded Danger back to Dusty...Had a bit of money in the kit so it allowed me to upgrade Cockatoo to Hatley.
Should be a good net points gain for my team there.

Anyone want to take a stab at averages for the following mids.

Walsh, Cripps, Rowell, Taranto
Walsh - 108
Cripps - 115
Rowell - 106
Taranto - 105

Tempted. What’s your predicted avg for Jy?
Averaged like 120 before his injury and articles came out about how good he was leading to him being tagged (after rd 6)

Expecting at least a 105- 110+ average this year.
He'll be in the mids supported by cunnington and the likes of LDU alongside him.
Destroying the preseason and has built on his body and consistency compared to 2020.
With 2 scores in the 140s you know he's got the ceiling to go big in games.

The problem is that going by those stats if when does get tagged he can't handle it and is almost completely shut down.

He's worked on his consistency in the offseason, his body is stronger and North doesn't have 17+ injuries to deal with.
I don't think the tag will affect him as much after anderson or cunners go in for a tackle.

Funnily enough, these 4 are in my team with Neale at the moment.

Walsh - 116 (Averaged 118 after the bye last year. Breakout year incoming.)
Cripps - 108 (Walsh to go number one while teams harass and niggle poor Paddy.)
Rowell - 113 (Go back and watch his games last year. This kid is a special player.)
Taranto - 105 (Could go anywhere from 100-110.)

Anyone want to take a stab at averages for the following mids.

Walsh, Cripps, Rowell, Taranto
Walsh 120 - Prolific scorer in junior football and ready to really break out after big improvement last season

Cripps 100 - Hasn't been the old Cripps for a season and a half and it's hard to see how the emergence of Walsh and the arrival of Williams will help lift his scoring. Of course if his poor form was due to injury and he's over it he could bounce back really strongly but we simply don't know what his problem has been.

Rowell 120 - Hard not to draw comparisons with Oliver who after a good first season jumped to a 112 average. Rowell's first season was way better than Oliver, although from a small sample. Take out his injury score and he averaged 126. That included an outlier of 170, but with natural improvement in a team where he will dominate going 120+ should be on the cards.

Taranto - 90 Hardest to judge. His 2019 was great but didn't seem to be playing such a SC friendly role last year. Many expect him to return to the midfield this season but with Hopper establishing himself as GWS's No1 mid and a fitter Coniglio and a fitter Kelly likely to get many more mid minutes along with Tom Green likely to emerge and get mid time, will Taranto actually move back to that high scoring position?

Walsh is growing on me..

Averaged 118 after the byes

I currently have Dunkley Forward but I think for $20k cheaper I would rather have Walsh in the Midfield. I agree with everyone else he could well be a 110 average this year.

Yeap he's good value, also makes you look at Heeney vs Taranto, very similar in price and then look at their scoring ability.
One could be a top 6 fwd the other, will he be a top 12 mid?

If the last few years are any indication Taranto will have to average 110+ to be a Top 12 Mid. I think he's capable of averaging that much in AF where D/E% doesn't matter but not SC. He can get a lot of the ball, but his D/E is even worse than Bad Crouch's & Cogs. He might push 100-105 if he can average 30+ possies. Top 20-30 Mid is still good enough to be a keeper IMO.

100-105 sounds good. :thumbsu:
I'm starting him over the other older campaigners around that price, lock him in at m8 or swap out at the byes if some other gun is juicy enough and you haven't JM'd all your trades away.
