Yeah I’m not sure why there’s a sudden urge to knock Petracca and such a huge love for Clayton Oliver. Petracca is the man at Melbourne. Don’t think for one second that this is Oliver’s midfield, I’m sure nobody needs reminding of the B&F awards night.

Chocco Williams is the developmental coach at Dees now, helped Dusty’s rise to stardom. I’m sure he’s working on Truck in the exact same mould.
Petracca has all the tools to be an Uber premium, fix up his tank and kicking and he will be an absolute star (he already is but to become that next level). I’m sure those are the two things he’s working on over this Off-season. Plus that was his first year at playing that role, you’ve seen what Oliver will deliver and he ain’t getting any better. He’s a better goal kicker and wins it at the coalface better than Oliver too.

Petracca is sitting at 4th, but I reckon he can get to a 6th gear imo, 120+ is not out of the question this year. Can anyone for the life of me tell me where Oliver’s improvement is coming from?

Completely agree, Petracca is the big dog. He's already got the tank, that was what he focused on last pre season and payed off in spades. Now it's just kicking and decision making, Choco will really help with that. 120+ definitely on the cards. Oliver is already an established SP mid, the idea of picking him is that he is a piggy and going back to normal quarters should help him a bit plus he is still young and is only now entering his prime. Hopefully he works on his kicking too.

Neale Dusty Cripps Rowell Heppell. Nothing spectacular but pretty solid I think. Iffy on Hep though.
I'm sure I read somewhere a couple of days ago that it was unlikely Heppell would be ready for round 1. Might make it an easy decision for you.

Sorry, but i dont see value in Rowell at all.
Last years hero with serious injury within 4-5 games.
Will be told to self manage this time around.
Other clubs will now treat him seriously, rather than simply seeing a 1st yr player.
Might be injury prone for all you know.

Paying 500K for a 2nd yr player allowed to do as he pleases for 4 games before goneski ?

Yeah, he's all yours :thumbsu:

All valid points .....and normally I wouldn't touch a 2nd year player

But how many selected Judd in his 2nd season ....Rowell might just be in a similar vein, I'm going to take that risk

Sure. Go for it.
"Might" and "Could" are always good safe words to hang our hats on when planning our teams.

Paying 500K is a commitment for a full season, and you can always pick him up early if his scoring is exactly the same. At 500K he's not about to suddenly explode out of reach....he'll be just sitting there for weeks in the low mid 500's if you do want him after a peek.

I think there may be a few still suffering a bit of Rowellfever, instead of playing the game.

Wasn't he leading the Brownlow before he went down?

He's the complete package. Contested beast. Kicks goals from 60m on his left.

Mr. Football.

105-110 average this season :thumbsu:

You have the fever bigtime lol :fire:

Hey, i'm not the Anti-Rowell. I just dont have the fever, and are happy with the ride he offered up last season.
Good times, but it was sooooooooooo last year :thumbsu:
I'd rather punt using far less $ and try to wrangle a rook off the field to start with the extra cash.

I dont think many were able to in SC :p

Didnt Juddy play a full first season of like 20 games ? Either way i'm pretty sure he didnt blow up after just a few.

More sense to perhaps use Barlow as an analogy. Did u pay big money for Mick Barlow as a 2nd yr ?

Not trying to be pedantic, but how about Sam Walsh last year ? I know a few Carlton fans may have understandably had the fever, but did you think he was a keeper at his starting price ? He's been brilliant but would you have paid 500K for him and done well out of it ?

Oliver's already an uber premo.

Sam Walsh played Wing predominantly IIRC ......Cripps was the man

At GC Rowell will be in the guts & is the Man

On Rowell, you don't get 3 votes in games 2,3,4 of your career and then do nothing after that. He has a work rate that is simply unrivalled and talent through the roof. He's already his teams best player and I trust that he will have no further issues with the shoulder and have to manage it. They left him out for the entire year when he could've played the last few games, they've taken the ultra conservative approach so that he can now play every game.

Don't worry about it, the less people that pick Rowell the better. :moustache:

And Petracca :moustache::moustache:
