It’s pretty bonkers when you see the dogs midfield SuperCoach prices.

Macrae 650k
Bont 623k
Hunter 618k
Treloar 587k
Liber 569k
Dunkley 550k
Smith 494k

That’s absolutely mental. Would love to see everyone rank where they’ll finish in 2021.

To put it into perspective, Carlton’s highest mid is 543k, Richmond’s is 541k.

Macrae - Negative effect. Will spend more time on the wing where he doesn't play as well.
Bont - Negative effect. Will spend more time forward.
Hunter - Neutral, maybe even positive. Plays on the wing anyway so won't be affected positionally, as an outside mid might benefit from having stronger players around him.
Treloar - Positive. Will probably play mostly mid, and will probably be happy to be out of the Pies.
Libba - Definitely negative. I'm not even convinced he'll be best 22 by the end of the year. You can only play so many mids and Libba isn't much good anywhere else.
Dunkley - Neutral, maybe positive. I think the Dogs will want to keep him happy, they'll make sure he keeps getting midfield time. Risky pick though, you can't trust Beveridge.
Smith - Don't think it'll make much difference, he'd already basically fallen out of the mid rotation by the second half of last year anyway. Like Hunter, might benefit just from having better players around him.

$678k was his lowest price until round 15. By then, the season is almost done.

But look at all those magnificent captain's scores.

Just neale before his greatest and lach him in!

Liber was probably our most important midfielder in the back half of last year, he’s best 22 every day of the week. He’s best 5.

And not a goal kicker amongst them.

Bevo trying to hard to replicate 2016. Aint gonna work. Boyd was the biggest lock for Norm Smith since Bunji back to back.

I'd be staying away from Grundy. But if you've got all 4 I'd leave Neale out. Most likely gonna drop cash. Pretty sh*t against the tag.

Hmmm, I think we need to remember that we have less trades this year than last year.

Important to have as many set and forgets as possible.

I think I counted 14 in my team I am hoping to keep all season. That may be ambitious though. Would need some luck.

Has anyone ever finished a season with as many as 14 players from their Rd1 squad?

Good question. Would need a lot to go right. I had 13 last season.

Current people in my team I’m hoping to keep for the year

Backs: Lloyd, Whitfield, MacDonald, Milera

Mids: Neale, Oliver, Mitchell, Taranto, Heppell

Rucks: Grundy, Gawn

Forwards: Dangerfield, Marshall, Heeney, Ziebell

That’s 15. Ziebell and Milera would be a stretch but if both averaged 85 I would be wrapped.

Taranto and Heppell as M7 and M8 would be the hope.

The power of positive thinking ! Ha.

13 survivors is amazing. I've never had any more than 10-11 survivors from all the years I've played. Usually finish with somewhere between 7-9 from my starting squads.

In your team I see 9 definite keepers, 4 probable keepers & 2 stepping stones. If you end up 10-11 of those guys at seasons end it's still a great return as they should all score well enough whilst many other teams are still starting an extra rookie or two on-field.

My last 2 top 2k finishes has always come from backing in your selections and building through the rooks.

Last year I purposely took some risky game approaches on as a learning strategy,
and found some interesting things out.

My rooks were bleed dry, I had zero cashola generation, times were dire.

So I traded out 2 maxed out premos for 3 upgrades which involved jumping on Boak 470K and Rockcrab 440k after their form dips and form lifts, (both tonned up the week before)

Risky but a fun kent move that was most entertaining, something I've never attempted.

Moved up 10K places in a couple of weeks, will do again. :moustache: :thumbsu:

It certainly helped me finish top 500. But there’s several ways to skin a cat which I love about this game.

Players I had all year last year were:

Backs- Haynes, Smith, Docherty, Rivers

Mids: Oliver, Dangerfield, Cripps, Mitchell

Rucks: Gawn, Grundy

Forward:Whitfield, Lunchmeat , Simpkin

Haynes, Oliver & Simpkin were all excellent Rd1 PODs kudos to you.

Only 7 of my on-field Rd1 selections made it to the end of the season and 2 of those I Roughy Maneuvered* (Gawn & Whitfield) + carried 4 virtual doughnuts all year & still luckbotted a top 750 finish haha

Doch, (BJ Williams)
Titch, Bont (Dev Robertson)
Grundy Gawn* (Conroy)
Whitfield* Luncheon (Cavarra)

I had Coniglio all last year... make of that what you will.

I used my last trade on him when he was dropped. Imagine if we started with Steele instead? 😭

Well played kenty. Desperate times, but it was fun to improvise eh. Might try it again if I manage to fluff nearly all my rookie selections again.

I didn’t include Andrew Brayshaw or Rivers in that list.

Started with both, dumped them and then traded them back in. So that gives me 15. Ha.

Actually I also did the same with Gawn, traded him to Nic Nat and then traded Nic Nat out for Gawn. Forgot about that one.

Anyone else thinking Trac over Oliver. Trac perhaps benefited more from the shortened games but I think this guy has further to go.

Clarry's been a SP for the last 4 years so he's probably the safer starting pick out of the two.
