They know the vaccine is likely to make them crook. People react differently. Some are bedridden for a week or more while others have little or no bad reactions. They won't risk missing a game and that is why they are waiting for the end of the season.

Which only fuels vaccine hesitancy. There are plenty of people who do far more important jobs than an AFL footballer who have voluntarily got it and if they had an extremely rare negative reaction over and above what you might describe as a hangover, then they took it on the chin.

I just can’t take footballers getting on their pedestal to take a stance that us little folk should get the vaccine and they will too, when it doesn’t interfere with their kickball … even though any interference is highly unlikely …. And they can manage to get a jab early in the week so won’t impact game day

I nearly vomited this morning when Kochead said how Port had battled through some difficulties this season. Is he delusional?
Gifted the easiest draw in the competition.
No quarantining.
Stay home.
Lowest impact from injuries of all teams.

They couldn't have had an easier path.
They keep going on about how they've been smashed by injuries this year. Laughable

We finished the season far poorer than they did. We were AS GOOD as they were, not "far better" as you put it.

Coupled with key injuries and playing on a ground we don't play well at..... and you have the 2017 GF
That's bs. We took the foot of the pedal for the last 2 rounds when we couldn't not finish top

What I laugh at is the media articles about us

'Adelaide had an amazing run with injuries as they only had 37 players used all year" - (Only teams with less were Brisbane, Geelong, Melbourne and Port Adelaide)

ignores the fact we had 3 best 22 players miss all 22 games.

We could still finish 2nd entering the final 2 rounds.
And we did go all out in that game vs Sydney only just falling short

In rd 23 2nd was playing 3rd. 2nd could jump us with a win, whereas 3rd would need to have a turnaround against us of approx 400 points, so effectively impossible.

3rd won by 40 points.
So we'd need to lose to West Coast by about 60 goals to lose top spot.
That's when it didn't matter for us and we took the foot off the pedal.

Well worth it as it allowed West Coast to jump Melbourne and give us a memorable finals moment

I think the tickets go to the clubs, and the clubs decide how to distribute (sell) them.

Remains to be seen how many will be available with the lower capacity.

Actually the capacity isn’t as low as you think. Of the 100,000 who go to the MCG, approx 20k are MCC members, 16k are AFL members (competing clubs get preferential then what number is left goes to other AFL club members) and 4k go to Medallion Club members (Marvel stadium). Now I haven’t deducted Corporates either.

MCC freeholders must be annoyed at missing 2 finals series.

Would be funny if they win the flag this year and not make it to a grand final again for a few decades.
MCC members are members of the ground. There's a mix of clubs supported by members with Melbourne being the largest segment. However, my guess is that less than half MCC members barrack for the Dee's. Not many crows supporters though I admit.

Whilst being full aware of my surroundings here and realizing that this post will not change anyones mind.... it's been a pretty bad year without being 'season ruining' terrible. We have been fortunate that we were able to keep things rolling through the middle of the year while a lot of these guys were out, and everyone has come back at the right time.

We have had a lot of injuries requiring surgery and leading to missed games. I'm not sure what a normal year looks like but anyway :

Rozee - Ankle Surgery (March)
Butters - ankle syndesmosis injury (12 April)
Duursma - knee lateral ligament (12 April)
Jones - right ankle syndesmosis injury (22 April)
Rockcliff - surgery on knees (10 May)
Clurey - surgery on broken jaw wire it together (16 May)
Butters - Release pressure on nerve in knee (21 May)
Fantasia - minor knee complaint surgery (31 May)
Robbie - knee medial ligament (21 June)
Farrell - ACL reco (5 July)
Motlop - ankle surgery (15 July training injury)
Jones - left ankle syndesmosis (26 July)
Hayes - finger - dislocation didn't click back in properly (26 July)
Hartlett - knee cartilage trim (5 August)

Pasini - shoulder (29 March)
Mead - spleen injury surgery (23 April)
Burgoyne - surgery on hamstring tendon.
Schofield - Hamstring surgery.

Fair point, but only a few of those are in your best team, so aren't relevant.

Or did we ??

I can believe that for a week, but playing with your form for 2 weeks, plus the extremely lucky draw against Collingwood.

Thanks Dr. Larkin I'm sure this board is ever so interested and overjoyed that you should take the time out of your busy schedule to inform us of the Powa's 2021 injury list. Now how about you toddle of and treat some of those poor suffering patients waiting patiently in your overflowing clinic....

You can afford to have a half your team out when you get a fixture like you did.

Port will win it in a canter...I think the only thing left to do is bet on them to win to feel better...money tends to lessen the pain....
My sentiments exactly..

I still think that they wont win.. they will probably play in the grandfinal but will be defeated by geelong or dees.. will probably be the dees..

If the dees make it you watch the AFL #FreekickDees get them over the line.. they havent won since the 60’s.. the AFL will do all they can to manufacture the fairytale…

The powaaa are really up and about... its amazing the specrtum of emotions that could be felt after saturday nights game.. either immense jubilation or utter crap

It's a fairy tale I can live with if it means Powa get ****ed over
