You get to a point of no return perhaps.

I got up to 110kgs (only 5’ 9”) when I was 50 (10 years ago) and I have more a rugby type build than AFL. Proceeded to lose 20 kgs over 4 years and since middle 2014 hit the gym (then in early 2015 had a heart attack at the ripe age of 53). Now do both gym and reformer pilates 5 times a week.

You have to have the motivation and will power etc and sadly his conditioning may see him not survive if he has a heart attack. I had mine 9 months after the hitting the gym - the work I did strengthened the heart muscle - it effectively saved me.

Someone needs to speak to him - surely his wife can’t be happy.
Well done. Congratulations. Its a great effort. :thumbsu:

I was actually going to comment, before your post, that around that 100kg 50 years mark, you either drop or gain forever.

Im sure for you 110kgs was the tipping point, if you gained another 10kg, you probably would be lost forever?

he literally has a gym at his place of work, he surely could at least get on a treadmill for 30 mins a day, doesn't need to be skinny, he never was, but atleast should be healthy
Exercise lays the foundation for a healthy lifestyle, at the end of the day, its really your diet that dictates weight loss or weight gain.

Regardless of how much you exercise. Without going into the ad nauseum discussion of calorie deficit etc etc

Actually I was realising I was getting tired but didn’t know what to do and then my GP said for me to lose weight if you want to get to retirement. I still see him every 6 months for checkups etc and he has no concerns with me anymore.

I say don’t take anything for granted that is the best advice and I feel someone close to Stewie needs to have a word - perhaps an intervention is appropriate.

Port Power have Ladhams still contracted, on pretty good money reportedly and they are trying to push him out.

Ladhams should stay, **** the Power. They know they have no use for him next year, he's then uncontracted and goes cheaply. They want to try and get something for him while they can and free up that money.

Stay, take the money, perform well in the SANFL and there will be clubs still interested. Could be injuries and you end up playing also.

Swap with Finlayson is probably a win for both clubs

It's actually good planning by Port. We would kick him out and get nothing for him, because we are smart like that.

What about Ladhams though?

He's in a top 4 squad and is contracted. A lot can change in a year, if he stays he might end up in the team. If it doesn't work out, he has a year to find a new home as an uncontracted player.

Shouldn't leave because it suits the Power.

Just warning and advice about those thinking of "getting" prescribed weight loss drugs.

Make sure you get it legally. It will show up on a drug test as "speed". There is a difference though that further testing can prove if it is prescribed or illegal, there is a variation in the chemical structure of both drugs.

If the coach and footy manager are suggesting you look for another club, then the writings on the wall. I wouldn’t want to be at a club that doesn’t value me.

sure he can find a new club in 2023, but I imagine he wants to play AFL in 2022.
