You think I should trade Stephenson over Drew?

I wish I could be choosing between those two to trade-out haha.

I guess Drew is the man to dump then if you're choosing between those two.

Drew ticking along ok but might only have another 2-3weeks max left in him with Rocky/SPP on the fringes waiting to push him out.

De Gone > Tex
Young > Burgo

Feels disgusting but makes the most sense. 315k to do something with Clark/Drew next week. Just need them to hold for one more.

This week has potential disaster written all over it (as if the previous two didnt). Usual duds, Clark, DeGoey wont be going anywhere.. ill be relying on Highmore coming back (or Webster)

Witts and Young out.. Solid rookies to bring in (although i agree with some that Dev isnt a sure thing), Tex about to kick 15 goals this week and plays us in our own graveyard (Adel oval) after that.

I was looking at holding Witts this week and getting in Burgess and Tex - but that requires Meek on field for a week. Im pretty sure he is getting the arse and Treacy is coming in this week - and of course our game is the last one so wont know that until its too late to get Witts to someone else worthwhile if Meek is dropped. I guess a guy like McEvoy as a last resort, but gee.. id almost rather play with a donut for a week rather than derail anything longer term.

Its not gonna be pretty. I really need DPP's coming in so i can swing Hind and Atkins back - or at least have that open trading options

Or Orazio even?

Hmm I guess it's a wait and see as I doubt we'll be getting through the weekend without a whole host of players getting the axe. You might be worth trying to fix Hunter now as he's no chance of coming back or making any coin. He could quickly turn into deadwood.

I get the appeal on Tex, but I only need to look at Dunkley to see the ceiling on players this year... Dunks is going at a 110 average and not really flying up in price (currently $770k and has only gained $30k so far this year...).

Anyone who thinks Tex will sustain his current scoring needs a concussion test and to sit out this game for 12 days.

In reality Tex will run out of $$ generation by ~ $700k. Maybe sooner. Steph is the lesson, so I'm not going there again. At best, Walker will be a good instant reward for 1-2 weeks and $140k gained (max). Worst case he has a 60 sooner rather than later and everyone needs to jump off, costing 2x trades in the space of 3-4weeks.

I think its probably a week for a double rookie grab while a few new names have popped up.
Clark is my first to go of those mid pricer range. Next is probably Sholl, then Drew. But obviously if anyone is dropped before my trades happen they'll take priority.
Fantasia a little more valuable as I'll probably flick him forward at some point. While he's still ticking over 70 average he can stay.

its not a coincedence his one good game was with Shuey in the side. and guess who's out again!! Id wait a week and see if we go back to Gaff before Shuey again. They were actively looking for him on the weekend, and he won't take 13 marks a game either. So I think its safe to wait a week or so and see if he can do it without Shuey first.

Very true. His B/E still is high enough that he won't change too much in price either.

He looked amazing on the weekend. He was in everything. As an owner I'm stoked to have held.

BUT, if you have other pressing moves I'd perhaps give Gaff one more week. Shuey's role in the team cannot be underestimated... he's amazing at finding that bit of space or time and rarely blazes away unless needed.

Sheed/Kelly are see ball/grab ball/throw ball on the boot forward sort of players. Shuey finds space and knows Gaff will be somewhere nearby in space for the release if needed.

Without Shuey, Gaff could yet find himself in no mans land once more.

His BE is nothing you need to jump at right now. Could be worth waiting one more to see how he goes without Shuey.

I've got Witts and Young to deal with this week. Can get to Gawn if I trade in a rookie less than $189k for Young but pretty tempted to rock Flynn as R2 and restructure a little and get a premo in somewhere else right now.

So of the 6 possible trades so far, how many have been forced for you?

I'm at 4 (Rowell, Caldwell, Young, Cogs) but I'm sure there are people out there who have all 6 when you consider Dangerthug, Witts, Heppell, etc).

And no, Patty Dow doesn't count.
5. Cogs, Caldwell, Danger, Witts and Rowel.

Quite impressed with teams who had these players and still moving up the ranks!

ps. Dow/JDG/Clarke all count !

You raise some good points.

I wouldn't be jumping on Tex this week unless you have a couple of spare trades. I can see the Roos doing something different this week to counter him. They were smashed and Tex is kicking about half of the Crows goals each week. He might get another 50k this week but then he'll be at his BE in 2 or 3 weeks time.

I'd love to trade Hunter out, but don't have that luxury. Besides, someone has to warm the R3 bench!

Can see Clark being dropped this week which will make some defences look shaky, he hardly got near it yesterday.

Everyone had Rowell so he wasn't going to influence rank much.

Danger played the whole game, so no points loss.

Witts played 3/4, so was a bit of a hit.

Caldwell - that hurt, but had big owndership

Cogs - was my POD midfielder and went off with only 26 to his name - OUCH!

It's only been 3 rounds, but I've already made so many mistakes.

I screwed up my forward line right from the get-go, bringing in JDG, Higgins and even Fisher into the starting team. What was I thinking?

On top of that, I went against my 'set and forget' strategy by trading out Gawn rd 1. Really hoping for no more dumb moves which I'll regret later.

Goulden is looking like a keeper at this rate! He's at M2 for me.
Yeh, keep at F whatever after round 6 when he gets DPP.
At some point the long season will take its toll on the younger guys that not only didn't play last year, but barely trained either.
Not saying they couldn't stay fit away from a club but coaches generally air on the side of nurturing young talent with rests.

Burgess or Cumming?

Cumming is flying along averaging 86 and should be an easy move to a premium in 4-5 weeks
I think both can work medium term.. I'd be tempted by Cumming though, especially against Coll who give let HBF's run riot - quick wins are nice haha
Cumming looks like a confidence player. I started with him purely because he'd be doing kickouts with no Whitfield. Game 1 he didn't look great at all but got to a respectable score on kickouts alone (remember it was dog shit weather against Saints so had plenty). Grew a bit in round 2 then looked real good yesterday. Playing with loads of confidence. With GWS being a relatively poor team this year, and plenty of injuries back there, I think he's still a decent pick. I do think he had an extra good game on the weekend as Perryman was missing and he's been floating as a half back this year. Still should be good for around an 80 average or so which is still a win at that price. I think I'd rather him than jiath at this stage but can't go wrong with either
