How do we feel about fyfe?

Thinking either the boring rook fix up (Rowe/Lazarro to Bergman/Macrae) or a bit of an upgrade (Serong/Campbell to Fyfe/Bergman)

He is such a good player, but he seems to be injured a lot lately. With so much carnage and confusion week to week, I couldn’t do it myself !!

but that might be in my head, not backed by stats !!

Granted it was during Covid ball but I had Fyfe in my draft league and would avoid. Watched most of freos game this year and would still keep that opinion.

Great player but not fantasy great. Can dominate a game but not really hit the carry over to high fantasy scores. I guess having as a forward adds value but probably better choices out there for the price.

Here here

Brad Crouch's next 8 weeks (up until the bye)

Port (tough)
Hawthorn (easy)
GC (easy)
Cats (medium)
Dogs (very tough)
North (super easy)
Swans (medium)
Crows (easy)

Playing 4 likely bottom 6 teams, 2 medium teams and 2 tough teams. Very solid draw IMO, and pretty much solidifies my decision to grab him - especially with Marshall tapping it down their throats again

that's exactly where he should be played but given it's Carlton, probably Wing Defense
That’s what i thought .... not good value in that HBF role
Pity Parks went down ..... he’s the type of tough defender you need

Unless you have Flynn at R2 , it’s premature to trade him out .... at worse he provides cover for the R14 byes of Gawndy

Can someone explain the Neale love .... last 4 years hasn’t ave over 100 .... he’s a SC must have, but i’m not seeing him as a must have in Fantasy ??

Yeah I like parks. Nothing flashy , but like you said , he's hard at it. Probably going to get a few games too with Marchbank done (again )
From what i’ve seen Parks adds a bit of grit to your DEF .... definitely not a fantasy consideration though

What was Neale's adjusted average last year? He was valued at $935k heading into this.

Fully fit he seems great value at $747k. I've currently got him as my upgrade from Tex whereby I'll have $804k available from a Campbell to Macrae trade. As much as I want Gawn I'd have to dump Fantasia to Macrae to do it and add an additional onfield rookie (Campbell, Rowe, Macrae vs Flynn & Macrae). I've never played this for more than 2-3 rounds but I'd assume I'm better off reducing rookies vs mid pricers first where possible.

Interesting traded out list. I got rid of Clark/Phillips early. Clark netted me Sholl and Phillips I "downgraded" to Markov who I am sure has scored more and is making money. Campbell out for me this week at this early stage.

Flynn I think I'll have to try squeeze 2 weeks at R2 out of necessity.

1. Webster to Mansell
Clark to Sholl

2. Clark to Farrar
Campbell to Ward
how long is Webster out? I'd probably try get rid of him.

Campbell's break even is high 40's I think so should get there even if its a struggle he won't lose money and at least he can score you some points rather than leaving a donut.

I’d Prioritize Gawn over Neale myself

With Neale, i don’t put too much of my decision making into a weird year like last year ..... BRIS also had the majority of games in their home state

Looking over Neale’s career .... i’d definitely prioritize Gawn, Macrae and even Oliver

Like your thinking, in a similar boat but my mind always goes back to the 30k more expensive Treloar. Maybe it’s the name, or the fact he’s in a better team. Just seen Treloar’s CBA numbers and only ~40% . Tough decision !

This will definitely be a toss up all week. To get the Melbourne guys I'll need to get rid of Fantasia or Drew. Either can get me to Oliver, has to be Fantasia for Gawn.

One thing I just realised is if I skip Neale I can wait until Saturday night to trade knowing the teams and if Drew plays or not.

You'd have to think Drew is in line to be dropped given he was the sub on the weekend and they have SPP coming back soon (and possibly Rocky). His B/E is 68 now so good time to move him on I'd have thought.

Probably. It would just mean I can’t get Gawn. Drew is a good option to remove to get Oliver for me

Which option this week?

A.
Berry - Grundy (via dpp)
Rowe - 170K rookie

B.
Berry - Grundy (via dpp)
Jordan - F. Macrae

C.
Berry - F. Macrae
Rowe - Titch

1k short of doing my ideal trades of bringing Grundy and F. Macrae (for Rowe & Campbell).
Only way I can do this is by offloading Jordan this week, which might be a bit premature.
If he gets dropped/managed that makes my decision a lot easier.
Option C means keeping Flynn at R2 for at least one more week and then hopefully being able to get Grundy the following week for Phillips.

Im getting Ziebell in this week. 140 last week and a breakeven of just 67 he will go massive against Fremantle. Freo will kick at least 20 behinds and Ziebell will run out of the square 20+ times for 60+ points and thats before you account for his standard 10 marks 10-15 kicks around the ground. Im expecting a 150 score from him this week.
Yeh every inch of me this week wants to do this.. 20 kick ins minimum, heaps of un-pressured switches. Will be a thing of beauty to watch it happen live

You're buying floor with Fyfe IMO.. rather than ceiling. basically a guarenteed 80-100 every single week he plays, with the odd 110 or above thrown in a few times a year. He's a top 6 foward but his price will stay around that mark i think so you can wait if need be

Looking at going:

Clark & Jordon
>
L. Young (Roos) and T. Green (GWS)

Shifting Hind to defence, Gulden up forward.

Defence is 'complete' with no rookies so can leave that for a while pending injuries.

Midfield now just has one rookie on field, and hopefully play the BE game with the above two ins and they gain a bit of cash in the next few weeks. Think Green could be a good pick up with his role now that Cogs is out. Roos seem to be getting better week on week and Young should see a lot of it with his role. Both around that $400kish mark so if they can put on a bit of cash it helps me leap frog up to a proper fallen premium, while also getting trash like Brockman or Scott away from my starting side.

Gulden, Campbell and Warner the three rookies starting in the forward line, and if Warner has another bad game I'll probably look to cull him and use the cash to start to build a warchest to properly upgrade one of the above two if they don't come on.

I just think as a few have said that cash generation is tough at the moment so rather than speculate on iffy rookies who might be dropped and force a trade, safer to go two mid-pricers who should generate a bit of cash while chucking out a serviceable score.

How many mid pricers do you have on field to only have 4 rookies?
