Will caution that with the caveat that he was very lucky to get the 91 he got last week, as we pretty much switched off at stage/didn't take them seriously enough once we got on top. 2 goals later in the match, plus a couple of easy +6's, pushed his score from a likely 60-70, up to that 90 mark. Reckon he won't get that lucky every week once other players start coming back/he's stuck in the forward pocket and not getting easy goals/possessions. Can't see him averaging above 80 come the end of the year IMO - especially once the Roos have a decent contingent to pick from.
Fair call. He was on at 30 at HT. But all the noise from him and Noble is a midfield/wing role. The cheapies late are what you want from your players. Where he ends up remains to be seen, but in a weak forward line this year I’m happy for him to be a late upgrade hopefully

He gave away 13 last week with an easy miss on goal (-5) and a handball to McAdam which should have been a goal to him (-8).

If he kicked those two, he'd be 87. For a guy I got for $470k, I'll stick with him for another week or so.
These were both in the first half right where I believe he scored 53? Would have had him 66 at half time. I only followed scores for first half but second half where he scored ~20 he just didn't look to be moving at all like the Tex of the first 4 weeks.

I had planned to hold him for the Hawks game and then possibly one other but if I can have a luxury trade this week I think I'll bump him up to an uber premo

With Jones out, Webster in doubt, Highmore unlikely and Kosi on the fringe I may need to make a couple of trades to keep my defence from copping donuts this week.

What shits me there is, De Goey might survive yet another week...

Actually scrap that. Forgot Kosi got DEF/FWD. Means I can get both Hind and Bergman into defence this week.

Are we confident Bergman plays this week? Straight swap from Jones to Berg is this easiest play for me, but have to have him on field to cover for the Ridley concussion.

What a nightmare.

Fair effort from this board to be on this earlier in the week.

Can't remember this much carnage early on in a season?

With crisis comes opportunity, whilst not ideal, Jones is a good looping opportunity by playing late in the round over the next 2 weeks, I have Mansell and Butts as cover. He'll then be traded out for Marshall.

Port board spot on about Jones it seems - means that Bergman should keep his spot at least

Going to have to swallow my pride and trade Bergman back in for L.Jones, after trading Bergman out for L.Jones 2 weeks ago.
Thought Bergman wasn't going to get another run at it with L.Jones debuting. Then Port proceed to get smashed with injuries.

L.Jones > Bergman
Meek > F.Macrae

For a whopping +$3k to the bank.

Exciting trades this week :thumbsdownemoji:

Trading Kosi instead of Highmore a couple weeks back has really come back to haunt me. Traded the wrong one!
Highmore had such better ceiling.. now Kosi has DPP it could have saved me a trade this week.
Gross.

If Clark plays, may have to be this week that Tex goes...tough call...but that calf has got me worried the more I think about it - 21 points in the second half is not good...

Also means that I can hold both my trades until 6:25 Saturday night, when Sunday teams are named, if Clark plays.

Means Phillips probably holds for the time being, while others get to trade him out this week and next. Interesting few weeks coming up me thinks!

Yeh I think alot of us are going to be stuck with that sort of move.

L.Jones -> Macrae trade 1 (swings Bergman back).
Then either Clark or Meek -> McCreary.

If Clark is named I'll hold him and trade Meek.. he's clogging my utility spot and I hate looking at him.

EDIT: Really going to have to prioritize getting defense "finished" I think. It's starting to hurt me on trades just patching D5-6 with no good backup on the bench (burgess/highmore ugh).

If I'd have known Kosi was going to play, I would have traded Sharp last week instead - which would have helped this week (perhaps).

Now I'm relying on either Parks or Burgess in D6 with Jones out...

I'm going to pretend like I don't have Burgess sitting there on the bench. Although I'd probably take him if forced as an emergency, I get the feeling more than one hole could appear this weekend.

Burgess should go back forward though which I feel like that will actually help him score his ~ 50 more so than the ruck duties.

I've already got two forced trades in Jones and Webster. Yikes.

Is Farrar going to last more than one or two games?

Macrae is the only rookie I have any confidence in, so I might try to avoid a double downgrade by bringing in Ward or Cunnington.

Trades:
Tex > Bergman
Drew > Oliver

Pretty happy with the backline with plans to add Ridley and/or Daniel when they bottom out.
Midfield top end coming along nicely. Still spewing about the Taranto trade 4 weeks later.
Ruck, I think I need to get Gawn soon before he sky rockets again, was trying this week but would need to get rid of Fanta instead of Drew, Get Macrae instead of Bergman and get Gawn instead of Oliver. All of which are doable Sat night depending how the teams land.
Fwd line is just ass. I'm just hoping I'm not alone here. Hopefully Kelly bottoms out here and then can hit some form lol

Any suggestions welcome

I think Ward/Cunnington are good moves. With cash generation starting to dry up across the board, might need a few of these 500-550k tykes to get us up to those big dogs. And those 2 mentioned should give you 80-100 every week

Personally I think trading out Tex is a bad move.
Must be so many other mid pricers or under performing players who go first.

Between now and his bye Tex has Hawthorn, GWS, Port, WC, Melb, Rich, Coll, and St. Kilda.
I think he could easily go big in 2-3 of those games and avg 90+ until his bye. His price might top out at $700k but I'll ride that happily until rd13!!

Interested to hear peoples thoughts on a few of the forward rookies.

- Farrar seems to have the shakiest JS but the lowest breakeven. Has shown he can score very well and it looks like quick cash will be king this year with the lack of decent scoring rookies popping up
- Atu Bosenavulagi played a half decent game. Any north folk care to share any insight into him and his prospects?
- McCreery looks like having the best JS but the lowest scoring ability

I need to trade in one of these this week and wondering whether to weigh more heavily on job security as opposed to scoring

With the news on Jones I'm a bit unsure what to do. Whether to hold him for a week just so I can do the trades I want or get rid of him and keep as many rooks playing. A lot depends on if Clark is named but tossing up:

Clark > McCreery
Campbell > Neale/Crisp (Keep Jones a week)

Or

Campbell > McCreery
Jones > Z.Williams

I have coverage in Burgess, Kosi in defence if needed plus ability to swing Hind or Bergman back.

Is Williams a viable D6 come seasons end given how cheap he is at the moment?? Surely he starts putting some form together and gets towards the 90 average

My question about Farrar is what happened 1st half vs 2nd half.. was on about 25 at the half and then sky rocketed. Was it a role change? Or more that GC were actually competitive which wasnt the case early? Anyone actually watch him?

GWS was always the last game I had him in for, but his calf could change those plans - if it really is a problem.

Port, WC, Melb, Rich are all Top 4-8 material and Coll and St Kilda defense are no slouches when they're on - that is one of the toughest runs you'll see IMO.

If you hold him 'til the bye, he could just as easily start going backwards and burning cash, whilst also scoring badly, and then you've pretty much lost your smart investment. Not worth the heartache if he is even slightly hampered
