Calling out for help again please. 25k in the bank :$
View attachment 1106331
Every time I spend my bank I get shafted....Jiath last week. So thinking of doing a double downgrade. Stockpiling cash allows me to get Gawn next week. It's risky not having like 400k in the bank because if Flynn gets rested anytime in the next 3 weeks, I just cop a donut since Hunter will never play again.

Thinking:
Clark to Macrae Jr
Fantasia to Farrar

leaves me with 433k to get Gawn next week. Hopefully one more price rise from Flynn to get him to 400k. Then I can go Campbell downgrade and Flynn up to Gawn.

I would keep Fanta. Maybe dump Campbell instead given he's not even on your ground?

Can get any mid.

Who to target? (Already have Merrett, Taranto & Walsh)

Do I go for value in Brayshaw, Treloar or Neale or payup and get the rewards from Macrae/Olivier?

Actually the ward move could be interesting.

Clark -> Macrae almost guaranteed as trade 1.

Trade two could be Phillips -> Neale
OR Campbell -> Ward.

Still think I'll take option 1 as Neale is a proven uber premo. Ward is value if he can stay on the park and in the same role at full capacity... it's a big IF.

You rob a bank or something? Next time you go on a heist count me in

yeah my reasoning was that I could have Campbell (E) and take his score if he goes 70+ since he plays early in the week. Surely I get at least one good score from him? Just have a feeling he might do well this week. If I trade him out and miss another 90 from him I might have to stop playing this game

Sounds like we’re in a similar spot. What do you see Ward averaging? I mean Campbell looks a 50-55 type guy. Where Ward should be 85 at least. So there’s a 30-35 point upgrade you’d think

Phillips 80 to Neale 110 is about the same

I have similar problems to many people, and I like the thinking of kozi with regard to Phillips, plus he has a couple of good fixtures coming up.

The new DDPs, despite my earlier comment, have become immediately beneficial. I can swing Hind into defence now, which will allow me to park Ridley on the pine for a week. The problem now is that most of the players I may want to trade out play on Saturday, but most of the rookies I'm looking at trading in don't play until Sunday :-(

Thinking is based around getting spud rooks off field = first priority. Trading out non playing rooks is a close 2nd (aside from injuries)

If you have some bank, upgrading a non playing rook to a decent mid pricer which benches a spud rook kills 2 birds with one stone. Think that’s a better move at this point as opposed to using the coin to upgrade say a Phillips which can always happen in the next few weeks.

100%. But it's the risk I take if I want to make Top 100 (gone from 111th to 67th to 200th in consecutive weeks, after some serious bad luck).

Even if he stays on the park for a few weeks, I'll still get some decent scoring and a decent price rise. At 421K and a 23 BE, it's nowhere near the risk of some other players. Only bringing him in because he's got GC this week, and because of this article:

“Away I go now,” Franklin told Seven. “That was always the plan - play one and miss one and away we go from now, which will be good.”

Abort

Pretty set on my trades this week.

Clark > Neale (just too tempting at that price)
Campbell > Mcreery

Also considering Danger or Treloar but I think they can both be waited another week or two as Neale’s price is only going to keep going up from here.
New DPP’s have helped a lot

Yeah Ward I would think 80-85 overall but question marks how many games he can string together.

Phillips ~ 75-80 to Neale 110 is an equivalent upgrade. Perhaps also with some risk (back issues) but trained last week.

I'm trying to go full guns n rooks so I think I'll be ditching Phillips.

Below is how my team shapes up after Clark -> Macrae and Phillips -> Neale. If Clark is back, my ideal trade would actually be Campbell to Macrae instead of Clark (I would have just enough cash to do that).
My big concern is my ever increasing number of rookies on ground (8). I started the year with 5...

I've taken an almost exclusively guns and rookies approach so far this season. I have 9 rookies onfield and two midpricers (Markov and Tex). Weekly point output can be a bit hit or miss but without having to worry about deadweight midpricers I've been able to steadily turn over underperforming rookies.
This week I'm looking at punting Sam Berry and Jones (from Ess) for the next most likely rooks. Should see me with a $350k kitty ready for an upgrade next week.

Yeah, I started mid-pricey which has had some wins and some losses. But I think from that point on it was important to slowly convert back to guns n rooks. I only want guns or rooks from here with my trades.

Picking up extra mid-priceys in an already mid pricey side could lead to being overloaded with overpriced underperformers.

Berry and Jones both look ready to go. I'd probably hold Berry though if you can because I honestly can't see why he's scoring so low. Such a good role.... I reckon it might just click at some point (if he isn't dropped that is..)

Agree, although I'm not so keen to bring in Midpricers. I'm trying to work on the idea that each week's trades either get me a premo keeper, or a double downgrade giving cash for a premo the following week. This is why I'm very much leaning toward keeping Riley on the bench, Only traded him in last week, so I don't want to burn two trades getting him out and then back in later.

The other problem is that the spud rookies I have won't yield enough cash to get a premo, and the other rookies (with the exception of maybe Campbell) still have a bit of money to earn before I get rid of them. I have 28K in the bank after getting Ridley in last week

Right now, I'm looking at trading Meek out to Bergman in, which will leave me exactly zero in the bank. Options for the other trade are:

1. Phillips to a midpricer either MID or FWD (seems a bit silly to me as Phillips is still averaging 77 and plays Adelaide and St Kilda next two games)
2. Campbell to a fresh rookie and bank the change ( Will depend on team selections... if I lose any more players from the bench, it's getting pretty thin)
3. Fullarton, H Jones, Burgess or Lazzaro to a fresh rookie to provide a bit more bench (Would need to get a freshie that at least has a chance to make some coin)

Decisions, decisions...

Goodbye Paddy (finally) don’t let the door hit you on the way out

Still got some serious structural issues with my fwd and def (especially with Ridley this week) but hoping my mids can push my scores up. Serong survives with North coming up.
