Is 4 round 13 bye mids too many? Want Treloar but already have Macrae, Zerrett, Walsh

I wouldn't think so.
But it does put the onus on having a complete team everywhere else if you want to field 20 that week.
Everyone generally has atleast 1 week of the byes where they only field 18.
And fielding 20 is overrated anyway when the 19th and 20th player are generally spud rookies scoring 30-40's.

This is probably the most condensed version of guidelines re: the byes -

Bye Rounds
  • There will be three Bye Rounds in 2021, in these rounds every user will receive 1 extra trade for a total of 3 trades for the round.
  • During these bye rounds you select your starting Team of 22 as normal, but only your best 18 Players will score. Players outside the top 18 scoring players will not have their scores included in the total score.
  • Note that if your Captain's Score is outside your best 18 players, his Score will still count, replacing the score of the 18th highest score in your selected Team
  • If your Captain doesn't play, and your Vice Captain does, you get his double points regardless of his Score even if he is not in your top 18 Players, replacing the score of the 18th highest score in your selected Team
  • If neither your Captain nor Vice Captain plays, then no player in your side receives double points.
  • If your Captain plays and your Vice Captain scores outside the top 18, your Vice Captain's Score is irrelevant.
  • Other than the aforementioned, all of the rules will stay the same, including the Emergency and Lockout rules

A few other notes:

- Basically, you want to use those 3 trades, to be able to get your rookies/midpricers out, and get 'keeper' premo Best 22 players in, who will be among the highest scorers at the end of the year (i.e. Gulden and Rowe downgrades to new rookies, in order to get Oliver as a premo from another rookie, gets you 1 premo for 3 rooks, essentially)

- It's better to have a structure of more players playing in Round 14, as you want more than then minimum 18 players playing every week, so you can offset the worst scores and get the best ones. Also, because anyone you trade in, in Round 12, will be having a bye the next week or the following one anyway, it means that you want to be able to get a guy who won't have a bye and will contribute to your overall score (i.e. it means you can get Duncan in Round 13, as he's already had his bye and will cover you for the other 2 weeks/will be a keeper coming out of the byes)

- You always want to make sure your side is better than it was, prior to the byes. Better to cop a donut and have a slightly lower score, than 'sideways trade' for 3 weeks, and end up with no extra premos and a bunch of rooks and mid pricers still floating around

- Best structure IMO, is 8-10-12. Means you have more players to trade out in the second and third byes, and also means you should have a decent amount playing if you plan it right - so you should score well too!

Hope that helps :)
Thanks man.
So rn when planning byes I shouldn't count the rookies I got as most of them will be gone by then?

Thoughts on the below? Sidey seems to be back in the guts and is well priced if he can go at 100 from here on. Will then deal with my rookie bench mess next week. Well before the standard weekly injuries hit of course. Hoping to also 1 up 1 down Flynn to someone like ROB soon as well.

I'm thinking now is the time to jump off Markov and Short, they've been great starting team picks but still...

My other options would likely be Fantasia, Gulden, Sholl, Crouch (who I just traded in or he'd be gone, looked so bad Sunday) or maybe Phillips.

Anyone got an argument for holding Short or Markov?

Markov isn't a must trade rn. He has a sick role but the reason he isn't constantly getting 90s is just cause his team burns him. He's always open.

That is a very good point. You’re likely going to have 1 week in the byes where you battle I guess

Starting to think Dev Robertson is a must. Big junior numbers, 2/3 75+ already. Not going to be many high scoring rookies left I don’t feel, or at least ones you’re comfortable fielding. Neale out helps his Js enormously. He even attended CBA’s on the weekend. BE 0, DPP

For all those fence sitters on Ze-pig.

Picking him over Titch last week is the single most glorious act I have done in fantasy. I was only watching because North was playing Freo but watching him take 3 marks in a minute, within 10m of each other, on like 3 separate occasions was amazing.

Not only that, but he actually took a few genuine intercept marks and got coaches votes. What are you waiting for?

FFS don't make me second guess myself again (triple guess?) and go back to Ziebell.

Macrae or Ziebell?

I'm getting Ziebell as already have Macrae. I'd probably go Macrae. Ziebell is a role change from being a spud. Macrae is Macrae.

Didn't get to watch the North game, so watched a bit of the replay. I've seen enough, Ziebell is disgusting and should be ashamed...can't not have him in fantasy though. Even the north twitter account was bragging about his fantasy score. So that tells me they are just taking the piss now and I need to get Ziebell.

Feel so sick that I didn't get him in last week. Went the double downgrade to get Fin Macrae...a safe rookie who would improve I thought. Well now he might get dropped with JDG and Mayne potentially returning.

Dunks to Ziebell locked

Second trade options:
Scott to Hall/Heppell
Rowe to Parish/Ridley
Gulden to Oliver or Lloyd/Treloar + cash

I don't think Gulden is finished yet, still has some good scores in him. But trading him out opens up the option to get uber premos in.

Hmm no word on Flynn playing. Bloody hate worrying about this every week. Just gonna get Gawn with dunkley so i can set and forget.

Starting to plan for byes and have 9/10/11 structure but that's with a half shit bench.

Without rookies, only mid prices and premos I have 4 round 12 players that are mid prices and premos (Markov and Phillips)

8 mid and premiums for round 13

And 3 for round 14 🥔

That's after trades

I was tossing up on Fyfe vs Marshall vs Bolton. Since I'm lacking round 14 premos and what not, should I get Fyfe? Does that make it easier?
Bolton has a sick role now and underpriced, Fyfe top 6 foward and consistentl, Marshall foward and can flick to R2 if Flynn's rested.

Any help legends?

If it helps, Fyfe has kicked 1.12 this year. Even a modest 6.7 adds 5 ppg to his average. Also spends less time forward when Treacy plays. Not sure how long that lasts for but the logical replacement is Sturt and I suspect Fyfe's role won't change then either.

Locks in Crae for me, cheers mate. You'll break Ziebell.

That kick around the corner shot on goal from straight in front from Fyfe. WTF was he thinking? The bloke is still concussed!
