Hi, I came looking for some Zorko info in regards to SuperCoach and his role this year. This isn’t quite what I was hoping for.
Your guess is as good as ours.
Our Club give us Nuttin.
Other than he might be spending a bit more time forward this year.

That’s what concerns me. A bit more is ok.
It’s not just your club by the way. We get a 1 minute montage once a week of some blokes wearing Bulldogs tops. Could be anyone.

Channel 7 news tonight mentioned Grant Birchall has had his best preseason preparation for years.
Mentioned he has lost 4kg.
Below link to article on Birchall but they only mention weight loss not how much

“We’ll see how the season pans out but it’ll probably be my last year,” he said.

reckon Birchall starts the year, especially down at Geelong, but I think he is under pressure. Of the 7 that played the Prelim, one has to miss with Gardiner coming back, but not sure Gardiner will be ready round 1, as some posters have stated he has only been jogging and not participating in the match sims over the past few weeks, so Birchall in for the early rounds.

I'm sure this is what's meant when they refer to "leather poisoning" during the preseason.

I did see Birchall on Tv last night and he looked lean.

Isn’t it great we are debating whether Birchall is best 22 - I remember the days when it wouldn’t have even been a thought whether a player of Birchall’s quality was in Lions best 22.
Remembering though that Birchall version 2021 is not at the same level as Birchall the premiership player, so every chance he won't stay (or even start) best 22.

I still do not rule him out.. had basically 3 years out with injury. So depends how the body holds out.
TOG was low last year 72%, if lost weight and got more fitness could surprise people
Understand we need to grow the kids who are waiting.. I did not think he was bad last year.
Not Rich level although solid.. Do not think he got beaten too much 1 on 1.
I agree not the player of those premierships although basically had 3 years off. Be happy if he found form this year.
No idea why once you are over 30 everyone thinks you are past it.
Players who relied on pace drop off.. Those never too fast drop of less.
Old man injuries are the problem

I don't mind him across half back if he's a lot fitter. And as you say he played many good games last year ,especially the finals win against Richmond.

But he realises he's far from guaranteed a spot which is what we want to see. Competition for spots.

Honestly think the whole team should be on notice. I know Fagan leaves players to run into form like Rayner etc get lots of get out of jail cards on talent.
Although you need to reward players in the VFL who have form. Not just give them games when someone injured or suspended.
For those in VFL they need to show form as well.. Not just potential or glimpses. Knocking the door down to replace someone.

We also need to get some games into some young players for depth for those injuries.
At the moment if you look at most peoples 22. take this one below
Predicted Rd 1 line up:
B: Brandon Starcevich – Harris Andrews – Darcy Gardiner
HB: Grant Birchall – Jack Payne – Daniel Rich
C: Hugh McCluggage – Jarryd Lyons – Mitch Robinson
HF: Zac Bailey – Joe Daniher – Cam Rayner
F: Charlie Cameron – Eric Hipwood – Lincoln McCarthy
FO: Oscar McInerney – Lachie Neale – Dayne Zorko
INT: Callum Ah Chee – Jarrod Berry – Nakia Cockatoo – Daniel McStay

What does that leave with depth and players over 10 games
Lester (141), Adams (38), Answerth (28), CEY (48), Matho (47) and Smith (16).. might of missed another
Guys who got a couple of games last year need to build on Ballenden, T Berry, Fullarton, Dev and Kiddy

Channel 7 mentioned intraclub today at Zillmere but no time. Usually it's at 4pm
Can anyone else confirm if this is still happening
I am not on Facebook/Twitter
Also Zillmere may not want their new turf stuffed up with recent rain :)

Zillmere Eagles AFC usually post something on FB but there hasn’t been anything yet for tonight’s intraclub (if there is one), sorry! Last week it started around 4 - 4:30pm, I’d imagine the same this week, not sure about the ground’s lights?

Thanks for the article link and posting team from the article

A lot of us on Bigfooty would like to see more youngsters get a go. It will happen they just have to keep trying to impress.
With the two's only playing scratch matches and training last year it would have been difficult for them to break in to a top 2 side.
Hopefully the VFL games will go ahead as scheduled giving selectors a bit more to go on during the season.

We will all have a better idea who is best 22 in the coming weeks. Then when round 1 team named we will all get our answers

Regarding our depth i think it is fine and similar to or better than other clubs. Just my opinion
Below list is of the top 8 sides from 2020 with the number of players yet to debut. Some of these clubs may still have lists spots available

Number of players yet to debut: Power 10, Lions 11, Tigers 9, Eagles 5, Saints 5, Dogs 6, Pies 12
So in theory the Eagles, Saints & Dogs look like they may have more depth
You would have to look at their overall list and grade the ones outside the best 22 for those 3 teams to form an opinion

For those that go to watch the apparent match sim today at Zillmere (according to channel 7), if Gardiner and or Zorks does not play today or against Suns next week, you would think there are some injury concerns and therefore I reckon Lester will be in for Gardiner and K.Coleman for Zorks for round 1. Poster mentioned Payne played last week and there were some photos from Mr Ripper so assume he is over his virus and in for round 1.

Well great, this isn't good news then to start off the regular season I say

At least we have pretty good depth I suppose ;)

Yes not great news but as long as he gets completely over injury before he plays
I watched him running laps the other day.
He looked smooth in his running style and was running at a very good pace and a lot of laps.

I'm sure we'll match up suitably against the swans forward line (sans Franklin) without Dizzy.
I would go with Harris, Payne and Lester along with Rich, Starc, AhChee and I feel pretty sure Birchall will be picked for round 1.
