Great derail and great memories, I don't think I have ever been as excited as when I got a dragster for Christmas one year, mine was similar to this one but blue, we thought we were so cool.Yep the good ol' days.
Mind you the streets are far more busier than the seventies , bit different back then when we all had pushies.
Seems like now every house has 4 or five cars .
Anyway ,back on track .
I get what Dylan is saying although we all love sport and watching sport if you are invested is almost as good as playing, sort of.
So I think when your kids play , I believe there is no shame in supporting them.
However!
I do believe in giving your kids their own space as well, without having being watched all the time.
On a random , I think my wheel stand record on my 10 speed was 18 pedals just before I stacked it.
Where's Haso when you need him.It feels like you are unearthing some childhood trauma here, unpacking some repressed feelings at missed chances or being overshadowed.
Do you want someone to talk about this with? I can give you some links/numbers.

As a healthcare worker I've observed multiple surgeries myself, would not be surprised if some parents would want to see their kids in action at least once. Fair enough too, you'd have to be a dusty old curmudgeon to not want to watch your kids succeed!I don't think this was your intent but I now have an image of parents demanding to be let in to watch their child perform surgery and it's delightful.
Yep, my pride and joy for some years. Mine was gold with gold streamers coming out of the handgrips.Great derail and great memories, I don't think I have ever been as excited as when I got a dragster for Christmas one year, mine was similar to this one but blue, we thought we were so cool.

Was humid on Saturday, so perhaps the ball was slippery, because Bailey and Coleman usually pretty clean with the pill.Back on topic. A few of my thoughts from the weekend game:
- Bailey moved really nicely, tackled and positions himself well. He was not very clean though and I would like to see that improve. Many were fumbling on the weekend and it could of been the ball.
- Speaking of fumbling Coleman just could not hang onto it. Got his hands on a dozen or so but it slipped through every time. I have not noticed that before so I hope it was just a one off. I am a big fan of Keidean but he needs to do better than that.
- Ely moved much better around the field but I didn't think he offered too much out there. With Robbo and Cockatoo probably doubtful for round 1 he probably gets his chance but he will definitely be under the pump.
- Madden had a strong outing I thought. His acceleration of the mark, especially on second efforts, is fantastic and really ups the defensive pressure in his area. He looked strong and matched up on Sexton a few times that I noticed and shut him out. He still dwells over the ball a bit long with his kicks but generally the quality of his kicks was good. He certainly did not look out of place and personally I thought he had a lot stronger game than Starc did.
- Payne was a wall in defence. Spoiled really well and he was composed with the ball, using it well. Big call but by the end of the year I think we will be talking about Payne and Harris as the best KPD duo in the league.
- Charlie looked noticeably stockier to me. That might be to protect him from injury but I am not sure that suits a guy who relies as much on speed and mobility as he does.
- Birchall was invisible for three quarters. Had a fair bit of it in the last and did well but if I was the coaches I would want more from him if he is going to keep the young players out. Mobility was as poor as last year.
- I have been a critic of Ah Chee but he was solid. He played exclusively in defence and did not show any of the run we had heard about from the practice matches but he was solid defensively after the first quarter and generally held his own.
- Berry has gotten into the habit of either rushing to get rid of the ball or holding it too long. His positional awareness seems to have fallen away and he is just not playing well. Hope he gets back to his best as I really do rate him as a player.
- Rayner was great in the clearances. He positions himself well, is strong over the ball and creates space for himself when he gets the ball. He does not get enough cheap ball to graduate into the realms of the top midfielders but he should take a couple of steps in that direction this year.
- Zorko played the first three quarters in attack before spending some time onball in the last. Looked a bit overweight and lacking a bit of fitness. I expect a slow start to the year up forward which might create some time onball for the likes of Rayner and Bailey.
- Daniher and Hipwood looked very dangerous. Hopefully that can kick straighter.
- Mathieson worked hard but had the blooper of the day when he tried to kick it off his left. Almost missed his foot altogether and straight off the side out of bounds.

Cut from exactly the same cloth as a certain dickhead chairman of our club. The vocal person in attendance was Tony Cochrane, the Suns chairman.
Gen Xers trying to be boomers are the worst.

As far as someone like Birchall goes you wouldn't think he'd would be busting his gut in a practice game would you Nunez . I don't think he's done at all but he needs to show he's still got it in the first 3 or 4 games. Agree re Charlie ,he looked a bit stronger in the contested situation a few times. Always a danger to the opposition and if he doesn't do a lot it takes a good player from the opposition to have to stay on him.Yep. Honestly the worst part of Big Footy is when good threads get derailed. Headache inducing from all the facepalms.
Really good assessment. I think this is as rusty as we'll see the players in 2021, and with that in mind I was fairly happy with how most played.
I'm not worried about Charlie - he looks very strong and I believe has been running well so as long as he's ticking those boxes I'm happy. Expect he'll spend a lot more time on the ball this year.
I think we'll see a lot more run on the song from Ah Chee in the season proper.
I think Birchall is done. Would rather get games into Madden rather than keep Birchall in the team unless he earns his spot which in week one of auditions wouldn't think he was close to doing so. The fourth was bruise free and it's no coincidence that's when he started playing well.
I quite liked McStays link up game. He didn't have to worry about kicking goals, but was a real presence up the group. Also let us keep our structure up forward with Joe and Eric. I think he's at risk of losing his spot to Fullarton this year but he'll have every chance to lock himself in. Fullarton looked decent in the ruck and think he'll take some serious steps forward this year if he can avoid getting injured.

Maybe his spot isn't up for grabs ,yet.Certainly wouldn't expect him or others to go at 100% in a pre season game, but if you're a player whose spot is up for grabs you'd want to look a hell of a lot better than he did.
Doubt that would happen in a real gameOn Lyons I noticed him lining up on the wing a fair bit. Given his severe lack of pace and penetration on his kicks I don’t see it benefiting the team much.
