Why the heck would we make Newk smaller?

His size and power is what sets him apart from the pack.

I think he is pretty much the perfect size already. He is one of those rare midfielders that can play effectively at 90kg+ (those are the types that win brownlows).

Yeah, he was out there. Looks to have settled in with the group already and is a very good size.

Much like Meek who was getting around his new teammates, putting his arms around them and encouraging the other rucks like Ned and Max after the running drills. I’m pretty hyped about Meek, and what he brings.

Finn is one I have my eye on next year. Got some confidence and more than acquitted himself in the tagger role. Add some offensiveness to his game and wowee

I liked Finn's aggression the most last year - i hope he retains that - and guys like Newk, Worpedo, C Stephens display similar aggression. One aggressor alone isn't enough

Most happy to read about Worpel slimming down
Looked like he was wearing a dress shirt 2 sizes too small last season . Too bulky and couldnt move .

I think he will have a really good season

Wouldn't help. All footy helmets do is give the illusion of safety and might even encourage more head knocks as a result.

When do the players get their new numbers internally?

From that CMac video, all those guys were at their usual lockers (Long at 27, Blanck at 36, etc)

Day 1 perhaps too early to change?

Can't imagine they'd be moving their stuff prior to the draft, plus with social media there's every chance someone might accidentally leak their new number

They'd have to move prior to the draft wouldn't they?

Draftees aren't getting the vacant numbers......and they'll need lockers to move into when they get to the club

Glad to see we're starting with skills work this early. Honestly wouldn't mind seeing some variation in pre-season drills where they involve skills a bit more, never understood why clubs don't do time trials and running drills with ball in hand and bouncing requirements.

I've been thinking the exact same thing.
