Seriously!
Can we start a "Let's whine about the club" page somewhere else.

PRE SEASON TRAINING............
No. Until the club start sharing more about what’s happening at training and the preseason, this is the exact thread to discuss the lack of info.

Have we heard anything more about the forum that Gowers spoke about? I think that'll be a great place to start in getting changes into the fan engagement side. It was a known issue and a big part of the presidential campaign so I would imagine it'll get attention once the forum is run and done.

I’ve said it a few times and I’ll say it again - whoever does their socials needs to be promoted to the Hawthorn socials. Even the videos they put together are better.
You need to reward performance. A call up to the firsts is in order.

At least we have a bunch of video evidence of WWE's The New Day being presented with Hawks jumpers by CJ and Moorey on Instagram today.
You’ve done well to know who they were.

Hey guys,
I am looking to get down to training.
If anyone has some training times with locations or can point me in the right direction, cheers
A FB poster mentioned that they have seen Punky and Sic at the Rosebud Country Club today. So probably no training today.

I’ll add my 2 cents into our social media team discussion.

I follow Melbourne United in the NBL. They recently released a 10min video showcasing events that take place leading to a game interstate (Adelaide). They had video footage of the team at Melbourne Airport, arriving at Adelaide Airport, team meetings, team practice, team stretching/mobility at the hotel, behind the scenes footage from the game, and player interviews throughout.

Suffice to say that I was pleasantly surprised with this video. It was great!

Surely we can do something similar with preseason training. Don’t get me wrong - the video with Scrimmers was really good. But we’re a big club and should be able to produce much more content like that!

An extract from AG's letter to members on 15th December reads:
"I hope Tuesday night was a turning point that allows us all to reconnect, unify and ensure we are always operating like the Family Club.
In terms of communication moving forward, I plan to give you the information you want and need in a transparent way, because that is what you deserve as a member. A key priority of mine will be holding a summit early in the new year to share opinions and ideas so we can unify as one."
For a key priority early in the new year should be January. Training resumed on 12th January and the lack of engagement with members is disappointing.

Hey guys, just popping in to give you a heads up as I don't see it anywhere on the thread yet, that we'll be having a scratch match on the 23rd or 24th Feb, with format to still be decided.

Will be good to see a lot of new faces from both clubs!

"Hawthorn and Geelong are planning to meet for a hitout at GMHBA Stadium, although the format of the scratch match hasn't been finalised just yet, like a lot of these games."

Interesting, probably the toughest pre-season hit out we could have asked for. Reigning premiers on the most difficult ground for outsiders in the AFL. Will be a good test.

Note it takes a non-official from another club... to benevolently inform us of a major happening at our own club - good job Hawthorn Comms team, really earning those paychecks!

Wouldn't stress too much, it seems to be a pretty common theme among the more successful clubs. Ours is just as bad, and we constantly crack it over the lack of info too. The only difference is, we at least have the Geelong Advertiser that gives us inside goss before the club releases it, so we have some idea of what's happening.

The amount of times that AFL.com.au has released an injury update, internal news or something related to our club before we have, is a ridiculous number, lol. We've just gotten used to it, as they seem to be improving in certain areas like social media and training photos - but we're still well behind some other clubs too.

I'm looking forward to it. No matter where we are on the ladder, it's always a good contest. Sam Mitchell being your coach now, gives me no reason to think that will change one bit - despite our respective disparities in club rebuild status (see last season Round 4 as a perfect example of this).

Thanks but aren’t you a bit lost?
We have enough trouble with our own social media team. Let's not drive away those that give it for free!

And second what dermott said
