First game in terms of standards for me seemed a lot higher especially the difference in the metro teams, the first metro team seemed a lot more balanced

My bests for the metro and country trials

Game 1

Country

Reid
O’Sullivan
Mitchell
Lual
Nosiara
Burgiel

Metro

Clarke
Mackenzie
Drury
Pavlidis
Dozzi
Teal

Game 2

Country

Konstanty
Duursma
Binns
Tweedale
Clohesy
Collier

Metro

Watson
Badr
Davey
Pascu
Grant
Lawrence
Archer Reid looks an exceptional talent this far out from his draft year.
Frangalis I liked a lot surprised he didn't make your bests?
Luamon Lual just keeps looking better and better every time I see him play.

Clarke and McKenzie super impressive, especially Clarke's work rate

Mcmullin (Vic country game 1) looked dangerous. 3 classy goals and heaps of tackles.

McKenzie I have really liked all season but for me Charlie Clarke stocks keep
Rising. Work Rate exceptional good leg speed. That contested mark and play on goal in the 3rd term was outstanding. Uses the ball well inside 50 also setting up many scoring shots/involvements. Drury & Teal we’re impressive. Smit & weathrill exciting prospects for next season.
Country I liked Caleb Mitch. Smooth mover and nice left foot. Archer Reid also impressive & mcmullin productive up fwd.

Second game.
VM Watson outstanding also caddy impressive leading patterns and work
Rate pascu hotton worked hard and had good moments. Hempel good in first half.
VC konstanty & duursma very classy up fwd Emile- Brennan used the ball well in the back.

I’ve only watched game one so far but my thoughts on the best as well as the best 2005 born.

Game 1

Country
Lual
Reid
O’Sullivan
Mitchell
Dow
2005 best Lual

Metro
Clarke
Mackenzie
Tomasiello
Drury
2005 best Philactides

1st game best imo

VM - McKenzie, Clarke, Jefferson, Witherill, Hayes, Teal, Ashwin, Kizan, Pavlidis, Tomasiello, Philactides, Nyko, Dozzi(ok), Drury(ok)

VC - Reid, Mitchell, McMullin, Frangalas, Murdoch, O'Sullivan, Lual, M.Clohesy(ok), Fogarty(ok), Parkhouse(ok)

Hugo Nosiara got it heaps, but ruined nearly every play by either being selfish or bad decision making, i wanted to like his game because he probably got it 30 times against an otherwise dominant VM midfield

this game felt like it had the better depth of quality of the 2 games

3 best players on the ground were McKenzie, Clarke and Reid, they were elite in nearly everything they did.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd game

VM - Watson, Pascu, Hotton, Verrell, Morris, Caddy, Weddle, Davey, Taha, K.Windsor, Badr, D.Harvey, Camaniti(ok)

VC - T.Clohesy, Duursma, Schuback, Konstanty, Pearce, Campbell-Farell(ok), Binns(ok), Collier(ok)

Pascu got a heap of it and looked to be 1 of the main mids for this metro team, T.Clohesy dominated the midfield, he was similar to Clarke even down to his crew cut, contested beast and break away from center, Duursma was spraying some i50's in the first bit of the game, then he went forward and kicked a few goals giving country a goal kicking target up front, Konstanty kicked a couple in the 3rd to keep country in it, Watson did Watson things, kicked a few, Hotton was a valuable winger providing run and carry.

Watson, T.Clohesy and Duursma were the best few in this game, more top tier football than elite games from them imo.

Is Konstanty being underrated on here? He looks like a tough, quick small forward who contributes in multiple ways.

His last month has been especially strong.

He's been pretty underwhelming when running through the midfield and it seems Gippsland wanted to persist with that for a lot of the early parts of the season, but with more time forward recently I'd be surprised if he doesn't continue doing well.

I had assumed the opposite as he has started to get a lot more football recently. I thought he had been moving into the midfield instead of out of it.

Cam McKenzie dominating for VM, vm up by 3pts at half time after dominating the first qtr and vc's big men dominating the 2nd qtr.

Archer Reid having a big game for Country so far, Stocks rising, there seems to be a scoring end and a non scoring end, vm starting strong in the 3rd, vm midfield seems too strong but Country finding a way around it.

Can’t believe we are gonna miss out on McKenzie, guttered.

How did Jerome Lawrence look?
Not as prolific as usual but was played further from goal than he does for Oakleigh, think he did well enough to warrant a final Metro Squad spot
