Don't think last year's score will matter, we'll be lucky to have 8 players
Disagree. But after organising it all last year and I have a keeper league to concentrate on as well this year, I'll leave it to someone else to get cosche's interest. I do suggest you request their score from last year though.

But why would last year's score matter when we are only going to have one league? Everyone who wants to join, just joins....

I will create a new league thread though so we can at least know everyone's team names

What happens then if you get 28 people who want to join. It's first in onlyi s it?

Thoughts on Hall down back? Had an amazing role for North last year, could argue he's a little under priced due to the first few games. Will much change? McDonald could hurt maybe? I don't really know North's side enough.

Mids have so many tempting players and Crouch is one I'm also struggling to overlook due to what he can do when all is going right.

Happy to pass on Gawn myself, feel like Jackson is going to keep getting better and eat into his ruck time. Not to say he won't be a top 2/3 ruck but overpriced possibly. Preuss is the obvious one (no idea how his pre season is tracking).

Forwards have so many premium options I went hard on it when I tried to pick my team a month ago, feel like this will be the 3rd year straight of picking Cogs so hopefully something better than that 70-90 odd average i've got from him so far.

Yeah i think Hall will have another great season. I expect he will still be the main avenue out of defence for North. Its true he gets some cheap ball but he also works pretty hard. There may be a very small possibility that he cops a tag but he, and the team, would probably need to hit a massive purple patch for other teams to bother tagging him. By that stage, he would probably would've racked up enough big scores for him to be a worthwhile selection anyway. That is about worst (foreseeable) case scenario. If i had a bit more cash i would be starting him over Lloyd

Pretty strong buy case.

Feel like Lloyd is the most appealing he's been in a couple of years with the loss of Dawson - not sure what the stats are but I'm sure Dawson took a good chunk of the kick outs even if he was playing towards the wing more.

Essendon's internal trial didn't throw up much fantasy relevant stuff yesterday. Caldwell was impressive for a half, but for me it's a choice between him or Rowell. The ginger wins every time.

Port's internal trial is streamed tomorrow on their website. Ones I'm looking out for from a fantasy perspective are Josh Sinn, Jackson Mead, Sam Hayes, Seymour Skinner and Zac Butters.

I had Caldwell, but took him out. I think you've got to have him in SC. Too cheap not to.

Bit of news this week.
Hall hammy
Duncan calf?
Greg Clark shoulder

The last 2 were locks so that’s going to lead to a change in structure if Duncan doesn’t get up for round 1

Won’t bother fixing team until week before round 1

Duncan calf a disaster…he won’t have a pre-season but will play round 1..had injuries last season as well..

There are only two things that will happen

1) start with him and he does his calf in the opening quarter

2) switch him to treloar before lockout and he drops a 130. Treloar then does his hammy.

3) Both Duncan and Treloar get injured in the first game because I currently have both

I think if Duncan is named then we have to start him. If he starts hot like he did last year and we can’t bring him in early, then it’s season over after 3 rounds

I seriously dont know where to spend my cash this season as im confident in so many players across the board. Right now i am running a 7 deep midfield with Daicos at M8 and yet i dont mind the rest of my team. Its nuts.

EDIT: Full team. Witts is a weak point but otherwise i dont mind it considering i spent like 60% of the salary on my mids

Is Rayner worth it? 7th most picked forward but in his first 3 seasons he'd never shown much as a scorer and I imagine coming back from a knee he'd be less likely to get a fantasy friendly position?

Apparently has been training well and training with the mids a lot. Might be similar to that year Petracca first started getting decent mid time….

I have my money spread somewhat more evenly than you.
Lloyd and Short in defense with Duncan, DeGoey/Treloar and Thomas in forward line.
Not sure whether it is a silly idea or not but I have just traded out Neale.
My midfield is now Steele, Macrae, Oliver, M Crouch, Lipinski, Rowell/Caldwell, Daicos, Ward.

Probably more sensible spreading the money a bit more evenly. Since making that post i have downgraded Petracca to a rookie and upgraded O'Driscoll to Dawson and Witts to Darcy. Im pretty happy to go in with 5 gun mids plus Serong though.

I have completely changed strategy after these practice games. There are several midfielders who are priced well and truly unders and im happy to start several of them with the extra trades available. I think Lipinski/Berry/Caldwell can all score enough to gain 150k+ and then ill upgrade them to the guns ive elected to not start with. The extra cash has been used to sure up my defence and add Treloar & Phillips in my forwardline.

Lock in Noah Anderson

Damn it. I've had Lipinski for the past 5-6 weeks. Now everyone will have him.
There's a possibility that both Lipinski and Caldwell could end up as keepers.
