Totally not backed by any information, i'd say the challenge of leading new club and move to a new city may be too tempting to Batsey. Will be sad to see her go if that eventuates. Arrgh expansion!!!

What's worse is that the compensation for losing a league MVP is next to nothing. No wonder Starce was fuming at the presser!

We'll still have one of the better lists in the competition. If anything losing Bates will make the comp fairer. Crows will be impacted worse than us
Will wait and see what happens at Port, hopefully there is a sizeable impact on the crows as they have been unscathed so far. Arnell being coach may complicate things for Lions if she can use her connections with existing players on our list.

Not at all confusing!
It's how cricket has worked for years.
But cricket runs across summer between the two years, the next AFLW season will end before Christmas.
Yeah, is not perfect, but it's better than inferring onn season is somehow less important or subordinate to another.
Of course, I was being facetious before. My guess is that previous seasons will be unofficially renumbered to refer to the year they started in.
