So Richmond is the highest scoring team this year,

Tom Lynch has kicked more goals than Hawkins and Cameron

And we just want to fill the forward line with Geelong players? Stengle, Hawkins, Cameron?

Yeah, nah
Blicavs starting on the bench but can run forward too. Get all four of them down there I reckon.

Who is ‘we.’ I still don’t think Stengle will make it or should make it. Squad yes team no.

Goals per game is great. It’s a very important figure and clearly that on its own impacts the scoreboard. But doing that, and virtually nothing else, is not reason enough to just disregard other players that have more than one facet to their game.

If it was that simple, the best tap ruckman would get picked every year, the midfielders would just be the ones with the highest possession count every year, the first defender picked would be someone that is the best spoiler in the league.

Very few players are picked for having one primary area of contribution unless that area is so far ahead of their rivals that it’s impossible to leave them out.

Think a Ben Brown winning a coleman medal by 20 goals.

Right now Lynch is the best pure goal kicking forward in the league. No one is suggesting otherwise. It doesn’t make him the best forward in the league.

Hawkins has multiple premierships. How new to the sport are we? :grinv1:
Hard to know much about footy back then. Memberships were microwaved by May.

Well Coleman Curnow must be a lock now. Lynch v Hawkins and Cameron will be an interesting choice... Have they ever selected 4 KPFs before with 1 on the bench?

Not since 2011 it seems - Franklin, Cloke, Goodes, Petrie (I/C). Pavlich made the bench in 2006 and 2008 with 3 KPFs on the field too.

It's genuinely a pretty close call between them; I don't think it'd be outrageous to put one on the bench.

Wouldn’t surprise me if you just didn’t know it given that I’m guessing you hadn’t watched a finals series before 2017.
He always thought football season ended after round 23

Ok, might as well throw my hat in the ring:

FB: Sicily - Taylor - Docherty
HB: Sinclair - May - Daicos

C: Brayshaw (Freo) - Miller - Rozee

HF: Petracca - Cameron - Heeney
FF: Lynch - Curnow - Hawkins

Rucks: Gawn - Oliver - Neale

Interchange
Mills, Bolton, Blicavs, Laird

Apologies - they were equal #1 going into this round

So still no lynch? Not even all 4 of them in the team?

Also if you wanna tell the other blokes I’m banned from that other thread that you be good. They wanted me to give a GMHBA home ground advantage calc.

If Hawkins is in which I think he should be. Lynch has to be in the team to he has been more dominant, taken more contested marks & kicked more goals in less games.
Curnow & Cameron are both mobile don't see how you would not pick all four clearly worthy.

Stengle has been one of the most destructive players in the competition in the second half of the season. He should be a lock. i would pick him ahead of hawkins easily. not just his goals but his run down tackles and smothers and freakish assists have been phenomenol.
